We will develop a lot more functional cubes, such as sensor cubes, fan cubes, Bluetooth speakers, remote-control cars, programmable movement cubes that can control by mobile apps. Most electronic toys last for a few months or one year. Our cubes can last for much more than 5 years if handled well. The design of the toy is super durable. Your investment in these electronic cubes that can ignite your smart kids' creativity at an early age is well worth it.Donate Now
For the cost of a takeout dinner, you can change a student's future. In partnership with Dekalb, Clayton and Atlanta Public Schools, Bricks4Schoolz will be helping 2,000 2nd - 5th grade students improve their math scores and change their academic futures. Through a collaborative approach with the schools districts, we have identified students most at risk of falling behind academically in math, and who suffer from chronic math anxiety and are one or multiple grade levels behind in the subject; our ask of you is to help us raise the funds to deliver cutting edge, engaging math curriculum that can change these students' lives. So, why should you help?If you're a sixth grader in the United States, there is a 60 percent chance that you are not proficient in math. More than one grade level behind? You now have only a 13 percent chance of graduating from High School. You're 12 years old, and the majority of life's harsher outcomes - including unemployment and homelessness - are already stacked against you. At Bricks4Schoolz®, we change mathematics to change lives. Our mission is to improve elementary school students' outcomes in math and empower them in their academic futures.By harnessing the power of play, LEGO® brick building, and an engaging and easy-to-use e-learning program, we are improving students’ performance and aptitude in Common Core Math standards, and creating a new academic future for them in the process. Our "secret sauce" is based on a fundamental concept - that learning should be fun. By removing the stress, pressure and negativity associated with math, our program creates an environment where students engage hands on with fun and exciting LEGO projects as they learn math content. Through this process, the positivity and engagement that students experience in math serves as a catalyst in repairing and strengthening the emotional and psychological bridges between students and math, so that math will never stunt their potential. A Call to ActionFor $25, you can change a child's future. We are asking you to help us bring this program to the students who need it most, in communities where math proficiency is a significant barrier to growth, and where the financial resources for innovative, impactful programs are scarce. In partnership with Dekalb, Clayton and Atlanta Public Schools, we are seeking to bring our program to over 2,000 elementary school students from Low and Moderate Income communities who are experiencing deficits in their math proficiency. The students we are seeking to serve suffer from chronic math anxiety, low math proficiency, and a deficit in foundational math knowledge and aptitude that will hinder their ability to grow as learners in years to come. For $25, you can provide this program to a student for an entire school year. As an organization committed to this effort, we will match each individual donation by giving the program for free to the same number of students that the donation covers. The Impact of Bricks4SchoolzRemember that 60 percent of non-proficient 6th graders? Or the 87 percent of those who won't graduate because they are more than one grade level behind in math? Those kids deserve our effort, and deserve a chance at a different academic path. The Bricks4Schoolz® program isn't a silver bullet. It doesn't change everything, and it won't turn each elementary school students' math fortunes around. But we can make a dent, and bring change to students' lives. Among the over 300 3rd - 5th grade students who have used the Bricks4Schoolz® program, math scores have improved by over 30 percent. Across key math standards that are foundational for future learning, such as multiplication and division, fractions, and addition and subtraction, students are reaching proficiency with this program, and in doing so, changing their attitudes and self-confidence in math for future years. to come. These early years in math are critical to learning key foundational concepts, and in developing a positive mindset in math. By bringing Bricks4Schoolz to these children, students physically build their way through these math concepts, enjoying a hands-on and engaging experience that validates and re-enforces their abilities as they experience success through completing challenging LEGO models. Who We AreThe Bricks4Schoolz program was born out of the success of the award winning Bricks4Kidz after-school program. While this program has grown to serve millions of students all over the world, our focus to bring LEGO-based learning directly to the classroom is a new one in our history. We are a young start-up aiming to make a difference in an area that we feel is crying out for innovation and fun. We fully expect to continue learning about our program, and to adapt and listen to students and teachers at they tell us how we can improve and continue to strive to bring the best experience to the classroom. Other Ways You Can HelpCan't donate? No worries! There are so many other ways you can help!- Do you know a teacher that would like to use this program in his or her classroom? Overview To change the future we need to impact the lives of our future leaders. We are doing that- daily. Through education, we are pouring our lives and relationships into those that will make a truly authentic difference in the future. But we have hit a brick wall- literally! To accommodate next year's students we need an additional 4 classrooms- by the end of the year. Step into the lives of hard-working school children. Contribute. You invest. We educate.Short SummaryLife-Changers and Game-Changers. Radicals and Revolutionaries. Risk takers and Adventurers. Creatives and Thinkers. These are the people that will shape the future- and the way is through education. Authentic, quality education. Right from the very start. Education is the way to radically impact the future and change the face of whole societies. It's the proven and sustainable way of lifting people out of poverty.“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world,” Nelson MandelaShort history"We still remember the overwhelming joy that exploded among us, when it was announced that we have been given 7.5 hectares of land. Now, 8 years later, Global Challenge Leadership Campus is a platform and launching pad to the future leaders of South Africa. We have built 2 schools on the campus, (Global Leadership Academy and Oakridge Academy) together with resident houses (for students that come from far) and a memorial house (for our volunteers). And we need your help to further the building project. We can not do it without you..."Global Challenge is registered with the South African Department of Social Development since 2009 as a Non Profit Organization, with registration number: 066-651-NPO. We teach kids how to earn and manage money. While empowering them to be resilient problem solvers. Why? My name is Camillo and I am the founder of BizzyBox. BizzyBox started because of the day my daughter came home wanting to get $64 worth of books from the Scholastic Book order. When I said, "No" she persisted, by saying that it was really important to her. So, I made a deal with her. I told her that if she could earn half the money then I would give her the other half. At first she thought that was impossible. But then I started asking her the same types of questions that I answered in business school and soon she realized that she had the ability to help people by making greeting cards. She has been running her business now for almost two years, and our conversation around money has dramatically changed. If we have learned anything from the Lean Startup movement it is that entrepreneurship can be taught. If you know any kids in the age range of 8 - 13, instead of buying them a gift for their birthday or holiday take the opportunity to make a fun investment that could last forever. BizzyBox is a micro-franchise greeting card business that empowers kids by teaching them to earn and manage money and more importantly we teach kids to be resilient problem solvers. What We Need & What You GetRight now we are producing and selling the product in small batches. In order to grow and market the business we need to get enough pre-orders so that we can start working with a manufacturer. We are currently able to assemble 100 more boxes by hand before the holidays. We are raising funds by selling the 200 that we make before the holidays and taking additional orders for later in the year. We are aiming to reach $10,000 in funding so that we can start getting the product manufactured more quickly. However, even if we aren't able to reach that number we will still be able to produce the boxes just at a slower rate. By ordering now you will secure the perfect gift before the holidays. It will delight both parents and kids. The box includes a Guidebook along with access to online videos that teach kids everything that they need to run their business. It includes all of the materials for kids to earn $60 and, it teaches them how to manage that money to grow their business. In working on this product we interviewed over 100 parents. We found that a lot of parents are struggling to teach their kids about money. This is an investment that will help you do that. Kids can start BizzyBox on their own but it is a lot more fun to get started together. To learn more about what is in the box checkout the perks. Other Ways You Can HelpWe are currently working on finding different distribution channels for the kids and organizations to partner with.Donate Now

Booklet that includes Designed with Love We want the representation of disabilities in our dolls to be as positive and reflective of the reality as possible, that is why we put a tremendous amount of care and research into each One Dear World doll we design. From deciding details as little as the facial feature to outlining the back story of each doll, we spoke with parents and carers of children with different conditions and professionals in various fields. We are glad to say that the interaction we had with children so far has been amazing! Give back to good causes Each One Dear World doll supports a good cause the doll represents. We partner with Work for Good to give 10% of sales from this new range to our charity partners. We are a multicultural family on a mission to bring diversity and inclusion to young children. As such, we want all children to appreciate their own uniqueness and value each other's differences as they grow up. As parents and small business ourselves, we believe in doing social good; so we partner with Work for Good and give 10% of the new items' sales to eight charities that support various disabilities.Donate Now
In an ever-changing world where so many people struggle to find their voices, it's so easy to forget the fact that there are those who simply don't have that ability. That is where "S.P.E.A.C.H." comes in. "S.P.E.A.C.H." is designed in collaboration with para-educators, special needs parents, and special needs teachers with the specific goal in mind of giving those who are non-verbal the ability to be heard and to communicate clearly and succinctly. S.P.E.A.C.H. will take into account the parameters of a given individual's communication limitations and then tailor the user experience for teachers, parents, and the individual themselves in order to suit those restrictions. The GUI will change itself based on what the individual can and cannot do. Assisted Interaction devices such as a head mounted mouse will be part of the hardware peripheral set. "S.P.E.A.C.H." leverages the power of game engine technology to create a fun and immersive experience for the students while remaining functional and practical for real world application. For many special needs children teaching them real world skills can be a challenging endeavor. Using game engine technology in conjunction with motion capture will help us create real world scenarios that will engage the student and help them understand. Augmented reality features will help the students illustrate how they feel across the backdrop of the real classroom. Body and facial motion-capture technology can be integrated with the software in order to create speech motifs that are unique to each individual user. For so many of us communicating is second nature. Let's make it just as simplistic and accessible for those who need just a little more help. This project is in it's infancy and the Prototype is under construction. The funding will allow us to hire designers and programmers to help us deliver on this vision. Please help us give a voice to some people who may need a little more help being heard.Donate Now

It has different characters and personalities. Some cats are vivacious, while some are lazy. Some cats are aloof while some are more close to human. Also, some cats are super curious and they meow frequently. MarsCat is built to allow you to shape its personalities. More interactions with MarsCat will impel it to be more close to you. More conversations with MarsCat will impel it to meow to you often. Every time you touch it, talk to it or even let it see you, will change its personality. Industrial Design We wanted Mars to be an approachable and instantly likable companion, full of character. However, designing a robotic cat is no easy task. Under its skin, Mars is packed with electronics, motors, gears, batteries, sensors, displays and a structural skeleton with joints. All of this adds up to some very challenging space and movement constraints that had to be considered when trying to design a friendly feline exterior. Our starting point in the industrial design process was the initial form factor and technical envelope, coupled with studies of other toy and cartoon cats, as well as the anatomy of real cats. We went through many iterations of the industrial design, often doing multiple design studies for key parts to evaluate the technical performance as well as the visual proportions and expression. Once we had honed in on a general shape we felt comfortable with, we started looking at the finer details and massaging the design. We also worked hard to reduce the number of visible parts and carefully manage any split lines and assembly features. Since Mars is essentially one fixed shape, we have developed different colour and pattern schemes to offer users differentiation and customization opportunities. Manufacturing Since we are a robotic company and we supply automation solutions to customers in the past 4 years. So we decide to produce the MarsCat by our own, and plan to use our robotic arms to manufacture MarsCat in the future. About Us——Elephant Robotics Elephant Robotics is a technology firm specializing in the design and production of robotics, development and applications of operating system and intelligent manufacturing services in industry, commerce, education, scientific research, home and etc. On mission to “Enjoy Robots World”, Elephant Robotics has independently developed Collaborative Robots (Elephant Robotics®P/C/E Series) and Bionic Robots (MarsCat). Kamibot Pi is a creative coding robot that can teach your child coding step-by-step through fun activities outlined in our curriculum. Whether you are coding for the first time or you’ve learned some Scratch in school, Kamibot Pi is a fun and easy way to learn functional coding. Kamibot started with the idea of creating moving interactive papercrafts, and evolved into teaching young students to code with an interactive robot. Our goal was to create a robot that was perfect for the school desk with a few more features that will allow the teachers to do more for their lesson plans. Kamibot Pi also complies with Japanese National standards for STEAM robots used in coding education. Ever worry about how to teach your child or students coding? You're not alone. We have many teachers in Korea who were just as lost as you might be. We've created a curriculum to guide your students step-by-step to becoming self sufficient coders. Coding with Action Cards: Kamibot Pi is codable with command cards straight out of the box. Kids can feed the cards to Kamibot Pi and see the commands come to life. Not needing a smart device to code their robots is a relief for many teachers and parents who do not have access to a tablet device. Coding with the RoCoCon (Remote Control): Kamibot Pi is also codable with the RoCoCon (Short for Robot Coding Controller)! The remote control will only be available to backers at specific reward tiers. Graphical coding with our Kamicard app allows users to pick commands based on the images on each card. Block-based coding with our Kamiblock 3.0 introduces more structure and more advanced commands for coding Kamibot Pi. Seasoned coders can take Kamibot Pi to the next level with Python coding. Children can explore their artistic creativity through coding. A few adjustments to your code here and there show up as new shapes and drawings. If you can code it, Kamibot will draw it. Team up with your friends and play an arcade classic. Collaborate with your friends on cool projects like recreating the solar system. Code the path of Earth’s orbit around the sun and the Moon’s orbit around the Earth. Work together with your friends to clean up our oceans of trash. Challenge your friends to see who can code their robot to catch the most fish. Our new Kamibot skins don’t only give Kamibot a cool new look. These skins give children a hands-on approach to purposeful coding. Our in-depth curriculum and multitude of activities will help boost your child’s critical thinking and problem solving skills. Our coding apps are easy to use and are designed so that you can learn coding at your own pace. If you want just want to remotely control Kamibot Pi we have an app for that too. We’ve redone our block-based coding app. The new and improved Kamiblock 3.0 will support the “multiple robot coding” that a lot of our teachers were requesting. This is exciting news for kids that want to code multiple robots to perform cooperative tasks. The Kamibot team first launched Kamibot on Kickstarter in 2016. After years of data and working with teachers and educators, we’ve been able to put together a coding curriculum that will make a difference in the way your child or students learn to code. We’re launching Kamibot Pi to share the culmination of research and feedback from hundreds of parents and teachers that are educating the next generation of humankind. Risks and challenges The Kamibot team has been at this since 2015. This is our second time around, we have a team that are familiar with the challenges that need to be overcome in order to deliver a quality product to our backers. As with any production, problems may arise by some unforeseen act of nature affecting the delivery date. In the case that delays do arise, we will be transparent and keep our backers informed.Donate Now
Overview Hello booklovers! I am Melissa Bourdon-King; bookseller. mother, CAREgiver, and all-around passionate individual. This summer, Once Upon a Bookstore will be opening in Kelowna, but I need your help to fill it with stories! The lease is signed, the concept complete, and construction on this beautiful space aimed to connect Okanagan families to literature and community is underway. Now I need your support. Please help me connect families to each other through their next great read! Bookstores are all about cultivating stories. They are the heartbeat of a community, and they reflect the interests, passions, needs and desires of the communities that house them. Thank-you for taking the time to explore my pitch page. My name is Melissa Bourdon-King, and I will be opening Once Upon a Bookstore in the heart of Kelowna's Pandosy Village in July of 2019. As you read a little about me and my vision, it is my sincerest hope you will discover your own desire to be part of the continuing story of Once Upon a Bookstore. A window into my story I have been a bookseller for more than twelve years. My passion for the industry began in a high-school classroom in Toronto when, in a mandatory career class, I was asked to think about my dream job. At 15, I hadn't ever really thought about what kind of job I was interested in, but I did know where I loved to be-- Mabel's Fables Children's Bookstore in Toronto. Since the age of 3 my mom had taken me there to find fantastic reads, and it was still the best place to browse around, chat with the amazing staff, and find that next magical something. Sitting in that classroom I thought, "Who wouldn't want to work at a bookstore? I'll pretend to apply there!" Except the application became real. With the help of my mom, I wrote a cover letter, sent in my resume and was hired! I could not have been more thrilled, nor could I have known that working there would shape my identity and set my course: a lifelong passion for books. It is hard to describe what it is about bookselling that is so intoxicating, but I will tell you that for the two years I wasn't working in a bookstore, I longed for the familiar satisfaction of knowing I'd put the perfect book into someone's hands. When I worked at Mabel's Fables, I planned events, I met authors, I read to children, I played 'can you help me find the book whose title I can't remember?' with customers. I used my creative brain, my management brain, and my community outreach brain. Bookstores house stories, and stories have the power to change lives, and even if they don't dramatically alter someone's path, reading books shapes people. Do you remember some of your favourite books as a child? I do, and they are titles that continue to hold an important place in my memory because I was forever altered by reading them. People remember their favourite books, especially books that moved them as children, and they speak about them with a reverence that is hypnotic.the conference really opened the floodgates for my creative brain. I was surrounded by like-minded, passionate individuals, and their camaraderie fuelled me. The name and a logo idea for the bookstore popped into my mind, and from there, the ideas just kept coming. I thought about all the community endeavors I wanted to cultivate and support, from bookclubs and private shopping nights, to school bookfairs and parent night fundraisers. I want to create a safe and welcoming space for local community groups (moms, dads, bookclubs, etc). I would like to provide meeting space to community organizations, like Girl Guides of Canada, and host family-friendly events like board game nights and art classes. Deciding to open my own children's bookstore has at times been a scary and daunting prospect. For every exciting idea that I get fired up about, there is usually a financial or administrative hurdle that needs to be overcome. Despite the wealth of experience I have in the industry, I know that the entrepreneurial route is filled with unexpected challenges and obstacles. Yet I consider myself privileged to know that following this path is my passion, and that knowing this is my passion is a gift. Regardless of the challenges, this is something I am doing because I have to-- because it is who I am. Once Upon a Bookstore's Story In order to open Once Upon a Bookstore, a total investment of about $140,000 is needed, and more than $70,000 of this cost will be filling the store with inventory- books, toys, games, puzzles, art, etc. The remainder of that money has gone/will go to construction costs, renovating, purchasing furniture and fixtures, legal fees, city and building permits, hardware, software, insurance costs, and prepaid expenses like having a telephone and internet service. While finances and financial management are an important part of any healthy business, costs are not what Once Upon a Bookstore is about. My vision for this bookstore is about filling a hole I see in our community, and using my passion and expertise to meet that need. Kelowna is home to more than 24,000 children, and that number more than doubles when considering the Okanagan region. As a parent myself, I volunteer my time on the Parent Advisory Council for my daughter's school and also serve with Girl Guides of Canada. I take my daughter to swimming lessons at Parkinson Rec, and to dance classes around the city. I see how many families there are and I want to foster their ability to be part of something they consider theirs--a store guided by their needs. Bookstores are a place to buy books, of course, but they can also be so much more. Once Upon a Bookstore will be such a place-- an event space for the community. It will connect local, Canadian and international authors and illustrators with Okanagan readers. It will unite new moms and dads with classes, support systems and safe spaces. It will welcome families of all shapes, sizes, varieties and cultures to feel safe and find their stories on our shelves. It will encourage creativity in all forms through workshops, classes, and discussion groups. It will listen to new ideas and be a base point to launch those new ideas, for young and old. It will give back to the local community through supporting literacy efforts, school groups, and community-minded organizations. In short, Once Upon a Bookstore will grow and evolve based on what its community--you--needs it to be. The Impact Here is how your dollars will help contribute to Once Upon a Bookstore's story: First of all- THE PERKS! The perks are for you! They are an acknowledgement of your part in our story. We have so many exciting offerings: stickers, bookmarks, magnets, tote bags, recommendation shelves, subscription services, bookstore birthday and cocktail parties! My personal favourite perk is asking you to 'Be My Book Valentine'. Many hours were spent thinking about what perks would best represent my gratitude for your support, and which ones would be the most fun to experience. This project is not just for me, it is for our community, our children, our families, our friends. This campaign is about bringing together booklovers, and having them contribute, so what they love being available in a store. So many beloved children's books have shaped people's lives, I want to hear those stories and be able to share those stories with everyone who walks through the door, or who discovers us online. Once Upon a Bookstore is going to be warm and welcoming, where families always feel accepted, and where parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends can ask for help finding the perfect book and know they are receiving expert advice from a passionate individual. Bookstores are the heartbeat of local communities. We provide safe spaces and nurture the local market- from hosting events, to promoting local and Canadian authors and illustrators, to being a safe space for the community to meet, whether bookclubs, mom groups, classes for parents and babies, discussion groups, or art classes. These are just a few of the ideas I have to bring together families in Kelowna. For over twelve wonderful years, I worked for, and then managed an independent children's bookstore in Toronto. Some of my favourite memories are hosting author events, both in store and in school classrooms, and watching the magic of an author interacting with a child. It is this magic that I hope to bring to the more-than-24,000 Okanagan school children. Even if this goal is not fully funded, every penny raised will go towards making sure the store is full of stories, so that I can continue to focus on supporting the community and building relationships that will help us all thrive. Other Ways You Can Help Even if you aren't able to contribute financially, you can still help! Spread the word! Share news about us on your social media accounts, talk to your friends, your colleagues, your dentist/doctor /chiropractor/hairdresser about our store Share this link! Maybe you can't help but you would like to share our campaign with those you know. Let's build a community of booklovers together. Thank-you so much for your support!Donate Now
Our story My name is Clever Mukori and i'm the Founder of Learn Or Teach. I am an immigrant from Zimbabwe and I came to the United States in 2012. In 2017, I graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and went on to start Learn Or Teach the following year. Learn Or Teach is a corporate learning company that specializes in custom course creation and hosting services. We provide a learning management system on which organizations can create and host online courses, for employee, partner, and even customer training. Given the disruption wreaked by the Corona virus in the past few weeks, demand for our services has skyrocketed as organizations of all shapes and sizes resort to remote work to maintain productivity. That's more than half of the 153 million jobs in the economy overall. While all these jobs may not necessarily be lost, it's probable that as many as 10 million of those workers could see some impact to their paychecks -- either layoffs, furloughs, fewer hours or wage cuts. We believe that providing life-changing opportunities through education, fair trade and self-sustainability is the key to create new economic and social opportunities. The women: Our work allows women with limited education and experience to become financially stable, foster positive social networks, care for their children and improve their quality of life. In India, we call them our ladies and in Kenya, they are mamas. They are family to us. They are mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends. They are housewives, refugees, women coming from domestic violence, divorce, acid attacks or limited education. The challenges: - Sustaining work opportunities and support for the women in the project; - Lack of work opportunities; - Limited access to artisan training and skills building; - Poor English skills; - Limited access to information on empowerment and self-reliance, such as financial independence, confidence development, the process of decision making, and self-motivation; - Limited access to community counseling support for women; - Finding safety and shelter for women and families facing abuse; STATISTICS INSIDE THE PROJECT: The solutions: - Creating more work opportunities for our women; - Introducing English classes in the Center; - Contracting artisan teachers to train women on new skills; industrial sewing machines, jewelry making, producing patterns; - Access to financial education and planning; - Counselling and mentoring sessions; - Legal advice; - Micro-entrepreneurship development; WHAT ARE WE GOING TO USE THE MONEY FOR: The vision: - Develop our women’s Support Center; - Open community English and basic stitching classes at the Center; - Provide access to counseling, legal advice, and mentorship for the women; - A space of shelter and protection for women and families affected by abuse; Introducing Experience Project Três An initiative working with the local community and tourism sector, Project Três, will develop new work opportunities for the women in the project and beyond. The women in our project will be trained to host traditional cooking and stitching classes. These experiences will include storytelling and building connections to locals and awareness of the impact of social issues. The experience allows tourists and guests to have an immersive understanding of the lifestyle and culture of the women, leaving with a stronger sense of connectedness to the women of Project Três, as partners rather than as beneficiaries. Sustainable work opportunities The Project will offer classes to teach new skills to women, empowering them to access new work opportunities, in and outside of the organization. Classes will include functional English, a range of professional artisan training and textile waste management awareness. Project Três believes in the principles of making an impact on the global challenges we face, we pledge always to work towards the 2030 UN sustainability goals. Out of the 17 goals, we tackle 8. We are actively committed to Goal 5: Gender Equality; Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities; Goal 12: Responsible Production Consumption.
