Fundraising can be fun
We are excited to announce that we have raised thousands of dollars across the world....
In Upper Jay, New York, on the bank of the East Branch of the Ausable River there is an old wooden building. Four stories high, this old warehouse has been many things in the past—a Model-T assembly factory (built by Henry Ford himself), a pine cone threshing plant, an antique store and an upholstery studio. Now you have the chance to help make the space anew by taking part in an exciting experiment that we, a collective of 13 seasoned artists, are calling collaborative community performance. And we want you to be involved. Here's your chance to partake in a truly revolutionary kind of performance piece, not just with your dollars but with your ideas as well. Who We Are? We are a group of artists—some of whom have worked together in the past, some of whom are just getting to know each other for the first time. We are dancers, actors, writers and musicians. We come from Vermont, New York, Pennsylvania and Oregon. We each inhabit our fields in different ways, and define our craft in our own terms. What we share is a deep commitment to community art making. And this summer we have made an agreement to work together in the spirit of true collaboration—and we want you to be part of it with us. The collaborating artists are assembled and led by Simon Thomas-Train, a dancer and choreographer, and Caitlin Scholl, a poet and musician, both of whom hail from the Adirondacks and currently live in New York City. The other collaborating artists include: Sophie Maguire, John Hoobyar, Emma Wiseman, Emma Judkins, Lea Fulton, Hanna Saterlee, Jenna Riegel, Sophia Levine, Richard Vaudrey, Branic Howard, John Mosloskie, & Philippe Bronchtein. The Space The walls of the Upper Jay Art Center (UJAC) have seen thousands of different parts come together and rise, piece by piece, throughout its long and varied past. Today, they hold and support the work of performers from around the country, bouncing words and thoughts back into the ears and minds of watchful audiences. This place has always been a confluence, a coming together of disparate pieces with the goal of creating something new. The Space We Make will premiere at the Upper Jay Art Center's annual fundraiser, thereby adding yet another layer to the building's already storied walls. We are simply trying to write the next page in that story... to bring together the disparate stories of our contributors in the spirit of creating something new, something more. The Performance A new work of performance—dance, movement, spoken word & song, images and relics from your own lives—in a space with a rich history of creative confluence. We want you to help us fund it. But that is not all we want. With each dollar you push in our direction, your creative impact on the final product will increase. In this, you are not just giving us money and wishing us good luck, hoping that what comes out the other side is interesting to you. You are saying, "I want to be involved in the work and this is how … these are the words I would like you to say … this is how I want you to move. This is something that you should wear. This is my story that I want you to tell." Each level of donation begets varying levels of input into the content of the performance that we—the artists—ingest, mold, and process through our chosen mediums into a cohesive and interactive piece. Then we perform the piece and show it to you via film documentary. Every piece of community input intact, every idea carried through from your mind to our bodies, voices, thoughts and movements. This work will be yours just as much as it will be ours. How To Be Involved Take a look at the video posted above. Think about the unique space in question. Try to imagine the Adirondack Mountains in far upstate New York. And ask yourself if you want to have a say in the performance we’re going to build there. Take a look at our list of ways to contribute, both financially and with your own creative input. Each of your donations will have a real and permanent inmpact on the creative direction this piece takes. And every donor will be able to see that impact by being provided access to the documentary we will be creating, charting the creative process and performance from beginning to end. You will be able to look at the screen and say, “that is there because of me.” For some of the higher levels of donation, admission to the UJAC’s annual fundraiser will be included, allowing these donors to partake in the action in the first person, living what they have helped to create. Where Your Money Goes Each dollar that you give will directly fund the travel, room and board of the collaborating performers. We are not seeking to profit in this, only to not operate at a loss. Any additional funds we are able to raise over our goal will be divided among the performers and donated to the Upper Jay Art Center. That is where your money will go. But with each dollar raised, you will also be given the opportunity to shape the direction, the tenor, and the focus of the piece we are making. Shortly after making a donation you will be contacted by us to discuss your creative input into the performance! Tell us about a physical memory you have....that time you fell off your bike, or watched your mother drink coffee by the window, or stretched up out of bed in the morning light. Tell us about music you want to hear or about some piece of clothing that holds certain memory for you. Send us an object from your past, or from your future. And trust that each piece that you send to us will be carried, intact, from creation to performance. You and your input will be with us from beginning to end. The Space We Make will also, we hope, help raise annual funds for the Upper Jay Art Center; it is part of our mission to help them continue to bring vibrant arts programming to the Northcountry. Tickets to our performance on August 25 will be $50, and are being sold by UJAC. If you want to RSVP and purchase a ticket to the fundraiser event,
Donate NowABOUT THE PROJECT: After months of design development, sample making, and business planning I am launching my own jewelry line this upcoming Fall. The line will launch with SUMMER CAMP, a series of manually machine-knit and hand "gimped" necklaces. My plan is to approach shops and boutiques around the US and internationally about stocking the collection for Spring 2013. I will also sell the collection independently through my website. With your help I will be able to begin production, print marketing materials for merchants, work with the graphic designers at In Residence to brand the line, enter FOCUS an accessories trade-show in Los Angeles, and ultimately start my business! The collection grew from a piece constructed with lanyard in my RISD thesis collection 'NEO-90ies'. After making this collection, I still found myself intrigued with this almost dead craft trend. Since then I've been integrating this kitschy craft hobby into my textiles practice. When paired with knitted elements, lanyard is translated into something entirely new! friendships 4 a lifetime/trail 2 the treasure/1st kiss by the council fire The collection both reinterprets and pays homage to the lanyard braiding phenomenon, resulting in a collection inspired by: SUMMER CAMP! The pieces are constructed entirely of textile related techniques and contain no traditional elements of jewelry hardware. The striped composition of each machine-knit cord is unique, since they are spontaneously machine-knit with a KH-930 electronic Brother Machine at my studio in Los Angeles. The same exact gimp stitches you may remember from summer camp are used to integrate the knitted cord within the intricately handwoven holographic and translucent plastic lace. The necklaces are incredibly soft, lightweight, colorful, and hopefully remind you of the summer you made lanyards 24/7! color-war BREAKOUT necklace REWARDS By taking part in helping me launch my line you will be the very first to own pieces from the SUMMER CAMP collection (a season early) and at half the retail price! International backers please add $5 to your pledge for shipping. You will only be charged when the project ends and if we make it to $10,000. What the Funds Will Be Used For: After precisely calculating the costs, I have arrived at a goal of $10,000. These funds will be used for every element of putting the SUMMER CAMP collection into production such as: MATERIALS- To produce wholesale and online orders I will need to make large orders of yarn, lanyard, and packaging materials. PRINTING - I will need to print catalogs, business cards, and line sheets for buyers, as well as invoices, hang tags, labels, and stickers for packaging. MARKETING- The graphic designers at In Residence photographed the collection. I have also hired them to design the catalog, among other odds and ends to brand the line. Justin Seibert created the Kickstarter video, and will be working on other projects to market the collection. Funding the Kickstarter helps them out too! TRADESHOW- Entry fees for possibly showcasing the collection at FOCUS, an accessories trade show at the LA Fashion Market. REWARDS & SHIPPING - Material, packaging, and shipping costs to send you all some pieces from the collection! +10% kickstarter & amazon fees For those of you unfamiliar with the laws of Kickstarter, I will not receive ANY funds if my goal is not reached. THANKS Thank you in advance to everyone who supports this project! It makes me so happy to know that these necklaces will be worn and appreciated by all of you who help me in launch the collection.
Donate NowThe Learning Partnership brings the first of what will be a series of Home Based practical learning challenges that will help children (and their parents!) get through the next several months of homeschooling. They are fun, easy to use and enable school kids to compete with each other from home, while taking on practical, engaging creative challenges. With these challenges we can make homeschooling fun and rewarding for all the family. If you pledge £45.00 you will receive the full [email protected] kit to your door for the start of the summer term. These challenges have been running as School based challenges for children aged 7 to 14 for the last 5 years. In that time 220,000 learners have taken part in our challenges so we know how to support large numbers of learners having a brilliant time. To support families through the Schools Shut down over the next 3+ months we are redesigning these challenges to be home based. These home based challenges will enable parents to create exciting, engaging, self-paced practical challenges that will keep children engaged and entertained while the parents try and get some home-based work completed! The Build to the Line - construction challenge Construction Challenge - designed and built cardboard bridges, model houses, disaster shelters out of cardboard. The Fly to the Line - Glider challenge Glider challenge - designed, built and flown gliders, learning the primary mathematics, Art, Design and Technology and Science curriculum as they have completed the challenge. While schools are in shut down, we know what a challenge it will be to keep our children motivated to learn, so we are going to put all our energies into designing home based kits and teaching resources to support fun and inspirational learning that enables parents to run home challenges that deliver the curriculum learning, but make it fun and exciting. There are challenge leader boards, previously used for the school challenges, to support kids competing with each other from home. It will be a blast, and most importantly it will be a cheap and accessible way for parents to maintain their child's education in the coming months of isolation. Risks and Challenges The risks to the project are simple. Not enough support. The Learning Partnership has been building this amazing learning resource for schools in the UK, India, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Dubai for the last 5 years. We have a cloud platform that can support remote learning and collaboration between learners, parents and teachers all over the world which we make free at the point of use. We have already redesigned the primary challenges to be a [email protected] kit to link the world together through fun practical learning. we just need families to support us in manufacturing and crucially distributing all these kits for families to receive at the start of the summer term. Something Else If we receive enough support in terms of orders of the product we can commission an established partner, McClaren plastics who make our recycled wheels for the rocket car challenge, to make a special recycled plastic connector for the building challenge. this is the last part in our kit that we need to commission to be 100% recycled materials.
Donate NowThe Mentor App is a modern mentoring management platform that empowers students, engages mentors, and equips schools with additional tools needed for students to succeed; no matter their background. Our aim is to connect college students with professional mentors and remote opportunities that will help them continue their career and stay motivated during the current pandemic. With a successful campaign, we will be able to 1). update The Mentor App software to be used for college students and their professional mentors and 2). create a digital opportunity portal to connect companies and small business owners with students who are looking for remote internships and jobs. I'm Jhamar Youngblood, the founder and CEO of The Blast App Inc (TBA™). I founded TBA™ in 2014 while in graduate school at Dartmouth College. The mission was simple, I wanted to create a software company that builds digital products to help people. In 2017 we won a grant from the city of Newark in New Jersey to build a safety button in our messaging app to protect teens and women from street attacks and domestic abuse. Read about it here: Newark Native Wins $50K Grant For New Women's Safety App In 2019 Julia Makhalova joined the founding team. She has worked and lived in U.S., France, China, and Russia. With experience in data and marketing, she has developed Gen-Z focused brand and innovation platforms for Nike, Netflix, and Google. This same year we started working on our second product, The Mentor App. The Mentor App is a modern mentoring management platform that empowers students, engages mentors, and equips schools with additional tools needed for students to succeed; no matter their background. Unlike traditional in-person mentorship programs, The Mentor App is an affordable digital solution that allows any business, non profit, or school to manage a mentoring program.During the current COVID-19 pandemic we added our third team member to the team, Idia Ihensekhien. Idia studies Anthropology at Dartmouth College and is a member of the women's rugby team that won the 2018 national championship. When Idia joined the team she shared stories all of her friends who have lost internships, and are now feeling uncertain about their future. To help her friends and other college students, Idia pitched Julia and I a solution that would connect current college students with professional mentors and other opportunities that will help them get through the current COVID-19 pandemic. That idea blossomed into Opportunity2020 Risks and Challenges Is running a global mentorship program through software difficult? To be honest, we are not sure. But we do know that we are up for the task because this a problem that we truly care about helping to solve. Our students are feeling lost and hopeless, and the last thing we need them to do is to spend most of their free time on social media. There is a correlation between social media usage and the rise of anxiety, depression, and overall stress amongst our most important age groups; teens and young adults. And during the last decade children’s hospital admissions for suicidal thoughts/actions doubled. If there were an over the counter drug, food or beverage that had such alarming effects on our youth, the product would be banned by the government. However, government intervention and assistance seems impossible or a few months away, at a minimum. So if we can’t rely on the government to help us cure this problem, what can we do? Opportunity2020 is our step forward.

Donate NowOverview Kidz Theater provides arts education and professional training at costs cheaper than any other in the city. We give $40,000 in scholarships per year to eligible performers between the ages of 8-18. We feel that no willing and talented performer should be turned away from Kidz Theater because of financial burden: performers from all walks of life should be included in our productions, and as the cost of producing in Manhattan skyrockets, we need your help to make this scholarships possible! Short Summary Kidz Theater needs your help to provide scholarships for our 2020 season! We are currently dealing with the skyrocketing costs of production in New York City--while we are looking to raise $15,000--a fraction of the cost of the scholarships we give out per season. What We Need & What You Get Our goal is $15,000 for this season. We provide well over $40,000 in tutition assistance yearly, and as such, this money would be instrumental in providing rehearsal space, renting the theater, props, costumes, set, as well as making sure we can keep mainstage participation for our mentor performers COMPLETELY FREE! The Impact Our program serves as a professional training ground for children and teenagers pursuing careers in musical theater and technical theater. Every season, our productions are both performed and technically operated by a VERY talented group of teenagers working both on and off stage. Our performers have gone off to alma maters such as Boston Conservatory, University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), Carnegie Mellon, Pace University, New York University, Elon University, Point Park University, Shenandoah University, among others; and have appeared on Broadway in The Cher Show, Aladdin, Les Miserables, Dear Evan Hansen, The Book of Mormon, Evita, School of Rock, and The Phantom of the Opera; on the West End in Dreamgirls and in National Tours in Newsies, Les Miserables, among others. Risks & Challenges The disappearance of Kidz Theater mentorships and scholarships would destroy the mission and purpose of Kidz Theater, and would lead to the disappearance of one of the strongest performing arts educational platforms in the tri-state area. If we cannot raise this money, our doors may close. Other Ways You Can Help Spread the word! Tell your friends! Tell your friends' friends! Text them, call them, email them. We need word of mouth to get out about Kidz Theater so that people know who we are and what we do. We rely on you all to keep our home growing and changing, and we TRULY thank you for all that you have done and continue to do.
Donate NowThe CHI Method Help me empower women, one habit at a time! (Unique Valentine's Day Gift, Fellas!) In December, I had my fifth surgery in less than five years. My adult life has been riddled with illnesses from PCOS to Endometriosis to most recently a life-altering diagnosis of Fibromyalgia. Despite these challenges, I still work full time at a Community Mental Health Center while balancing being a mom, wife, and caretaker of our home and pets. As I laid in bed, recovering from my surgery, I found myself unhealthy and unhappy - and impulsively purchased my hundredth diet system after seeing my timelines filled with people's New Years' resolutions, pictures of successful people on the system, dreaming about wanting my own weight loss, and a special "one-time" offer. $300 later... I am waiting for my shipment and instantly feeling regret. I realized I had hopped from identifying a problem - straight to a solution. I had taken no time to assess why the last 99 times had failed and what I required to be successful. I was just throwing money at the problem, hoping this solution might be the one that finally sticks. Sound familiar? I thought to myself - why am I successful in my business life but can't tackle my own weight? That’s when I realized I use proven continuous improvement models in business. I’ve personally seen the success they bring about in changing companies, cultures, processes, products and systems. Why had I not taken these successful methods and applied them to my own individual growth? The issue with many of these corporate systems is they typically have a narrow and specialized focus: Lean and Six Sigma focus heavily on the manufacturing world. Agile Methodology focuses on software teams. The Snowball Method focuses on paying off your debt. Cognitive Behavioral Analysis is usually done in Individual or Group Therapy. You get the idea. I realized that there are important elements in these various systems I’ve used throughout my career that could be adapted and woven into a system that is focused on the individual and their growth - and The CHI Method was born. What We Need & What You Get Here's how you can help: I am launching a 6-8 month Beta Team and you are invited! My focus during Beta will not be on driving revenue, but on refining the system - collecting data - and building our success stories for an AWESOME Go Live Campaign as we head into 2021. I am currently paying all costs out of pocket, including 3 super talented lady soloprenuers who are building their own freelancing business. I believe in the Fight for $15 and want to be able to pay living wages for their hard work during our Beta Team Campaign. I need to be able to market and promote the Beta Team Campaign so we can get a big, diverse group of women with big goals they need help achieving. I hope you will help me spread the word, but some paid advertising goes a LONG way. In an ideal world, I would love the freedom to be able to transition my time and efforts full-time to ChiCoach. (I actually LOVE my 8-5 position, but my Fibromyalgia has made it very difficult to perform on strict schedules and stress tends to make my flare-ups worse. I'm hoping to take lemons and make lemonade, as I'd much rather help others and run a business than eventually reach the point I need to be on disability.) Here's what you can get: All Beta Team Members will receive a FREE electronic copy of The Book of CHI and their ACHIVment Challenge Workbook. Our contributors will be able to earn additional rewards such as an exclusive badge and title in our ChiCoach Community. Access to a VIP Grop for our ChiCoach Advanced(+) Founders, which provides you with early access to limited quantity or special offers. One-on-One Coaching Lesson with the creator of The CHI Method. A printed copy of The Book of CHI. A printed copy of the ACHIVment Challenge Workbook. Other Ways You Can Help If you can't contribute, that doesn't mean you can't help: Joining our Beta Team is completely FREE. I'm an introvert who could REALLY use your help with social media love. Could you help me make some noise? Please share the Beta Team opportunity with women you know! Thanks in advance for your support!
Donate NowOverview We hope to introduce 55 million students worldwide to reading. Today, in our public schools, Two thirds of our children fail to read at grade level. They go through school not understanding their textbooks. Our country ranks 24th for reading in the world. Not being able to read leads to poverty, dropouts and gang violence. I have helped 5,500 children learn to read with my Rocket Phonics System. Please help me turn that number to 55 million! My Story I started my medical career at Los Angeles General Hospital's Jail Ward in gang ridden Boyle Heights. I saw first hand how illiteracy led to poverty and gang involvement and the resulting violence and carnage tearing families and communities apart. Yet it took my 5 year old daughter, Stephanie to have reading problems for me to do something. Stef was frustrated and confused. What started as a game with her stuffed animals trying to help her overcome her confusion ended up helping Stephanie quickly read at 12th grade level. She was still in her 3rd grade when she did this! These surprising results were unexpected. I took my system to the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and they tested my system against all other teaching methods. UCLA determined that students using my system were "rocketing" past other students 3 times faster than their peers. This was the birth of "Rocket Phonics." I have helped 5,500 children to read since those early days but this is a drop in the bucket. To heal our communities, eliminate poverty, and build brighter futures for all children that are safe and that last, we MUST increase literacy levels. The more literate a child the better job they can get and the longer they can keep it. Studies show that 80% of violent juveniles will stop the carnage if they are taught to read. 4 months ago Pastor Perkins, a community leader in a depressed part of my town called Newtown asked me to help her tiny school. Pastor Perkins has 11 students from age 5 to 14. This tiny school is off the radar and Pastor Perkins's passion and her commitment to make a difference inspired me. The reality is that some of her students are bright and have ambitious dreams and want to work hard, even at this young age. Yet they don't have access to the same books, quality teachers and live in negative violent environments. Why should the zip code they live in determine their futures? I took my Rocket Phonics system to her school I have been teaching her children for 7 months. And just like the 5,500 children I had helped previously, her children are gaining tremendous ground. One of the children's mother, Litha noticed how her 7 year old son, Chris was passing his peers in reading ability in 7 weeks. She has been trying to lift herself out of poverty and has attempted to pass the GED exam for 5 years. She asked me to help her. Like her son, this single mother is making remarkable progress. Her confidence is increasing and she has hope of empowering herself and providing for her young family. However, I only have them for 3 hours a week. We need to do more. And there are 55 million children whose reading skills need to be improved. I can not make a difference with them unless I can make it easier for them to get my Rocket Phonics System. So I shared my dream with Raj Doraisamy, a CPA and technologist and together we have devised a plan to take my Rocket Phonics system and turn it into a game app that any child any where can use. With your help, we can reduce crime, poverty and raise the quality of leaders in all areas of our country. Children playing the Rocket Phonics Game and having their reading skills rocketing to new levels In one of the richest nations in the world, why are the numbers in our school system so bad? Our school system uses a weak phonics programs and a concept called "whole language". Both require the students to memorize words or guess rather than sound them out. Why this has not worked for 50 years is that only 1 out of 3 can memorize fast enough to keep up with grade level reading. Regardless of why this failing system continues to be upheld in our school system, the time is for Rocket Phonics to elevate our children so they can create a bright future for themselves. I have dedicated my life to this cause. Why do we need this money? I have built a fantastic system that works. We need to take my Rocket Phonics Paper System and transform it into an app. Our Goal This Year: Create the first version of the Rocket Phonics Game. Create the App for Apple devices, reach families in inner city schools, reach 3rd graders and donate the app to 50,000 low income families. But first we have to get Phase 1 completed. This campaign is for Phase 1. With Phase 1 completed, I can raise money for the app with foundations and private donors. The $23,000 helps me get the app on the Apple app store for use on any iPhone or iPad. My next phase is to use the success of the iphone version to raise money and develop the android version. Recognizing your generosity. Thank you! What You Get My team and I have got some great perks for you! For example, we have a special dedication ebook to the child you got the book for. You write the dedication and we'll put it in or simply tell us the name and we'll write the dedication. Either way each time you read the book your child will feel special. You will get Tell people about your unique perks. Another perk is for you and your child to be characters in the book! A great way to create a lasting legacy! What if we don't reach our entire goal? We want to make Rocket Phonics available to as many kids as possible so if we don't get the entire goal, we will create the graphics and story and make it available as a simple work book on our website. The Impact Among all initiatives to help children read, Rocket Phonics is incredibly cost-effective and fun for the child. The child plays a fun game and learns to read in the process Every dollar you donate will be used on getting Rocket Phonics to students so that they can read, be confident and move forward successfully, regardless of their income level, race, location or gender. What I have already done and paid for: This cause is my life's mission. I have left my successful medical practice to make this cause a reality for the nation. I hired world class professionals. Business Strategy, marketing and launch Plan Ed Bogle who works with entrepreneurs to create market seizing strategies and to be opportunistic in growth and changing market conditions. Business plan and CFO - Steve Breitman CPA with an in-depth business understanding needed to guide us to success. I have had proof of concepts for iPhone built. I have had several focus groups with students, teachers, moms. Now is the time to launch the Rocket Phonics Game App. Beyond Money— We Need Your Help Spreading The Word At its heart, Rocket Phonics is a grassroots movement driven by parents, teachers and students who want children everywhere to be able to read confidently. Whether you donate to our campaign or not, you can still help make history. Share a link to this campaign on facebook, instagram and email it to your fiends. Everyone wants to help children. We know our education system is broken - here is a way we can help those affected directly! Ways you can help: Ask your group / club / church to share this campaign. Ask any children in your life to draw a picture about what they think about reading, about their friends who can't read. Take a picture with your phone and post it to our facebook page. Explain why your project is valuable to the contributor and to the world. Point out your successful track record with projects like this (if you have one). Make it real for people and build trust. Risks & Challenges We could create this eBook and kids don't like using it as a game. We have over 5,500 children that we have already empowered and taught. We are currently teaching this system at a non profit school in one of the most distressed communities in Sarasota and the kids love it! We could create this eBook and fail to market it effectively We have retained a premier marketer who has agreed to professionally position and promote the app at his cost once the ebook is ready. Other Ways You Can Help Some people just can't contribute, but that doesn't mean they can't help: Ask folks to get the word out and make some noise about your campaign.

BE Buddies are a great tool for all children and adults alike, whether practicing overall well-being or struggling with emotional behavior problems. For a child who might have difficulty sitting still, letting go of worries, controlling anger, or sleeping at night, the BE Buddy™ helps children regulate their emotions and overcome anxiety. What We Need & What You Get We are seeking funds to support the first manufactured production of the BE Buddies. We have vetted and sourced the best raw materials and are thrilled that the BE Buddies will continue to be handmade in Minnesota. With each purchase, you will receive your packaged BE Buddies, a UV coated card with practices to get you started, and our warm thank you note including our website to visit for additional support and resources. We are really excited about the perks! If you would like to support our mission to “inspire and empower students with tools to build focus, strength, and compassion towards self and others,” check out these perks on your right. We hope to reach our goal of $15,000, but if we do not reach that goal, we will utilize the funds raised towards the contributing costs of production. These could include marketing costs, packaging costs, labor costs, raw materials, and shipping. Either way, we thank you for your consideration and feedback, so don’t hesitate to reach out with ideas and/or suggestions. What do our BE Buddy™ Friends have to say? Why BE Buddy ? Untreated anxiety disorders are linked to depression, school failure and a two-fold increase in risk for substance use disorder. The solution is simple, but not necessarily easy. Building daily habits to support overall wellbeing is the most effective way to reduce anxiety. The BE Buddy™ is a tangible reminder and tool to cultivate these practices in children. Habits developed at a young age are a lot easier to sustain throughout life as an adult. As Frederick Douglass famously quoted, “It is easier to build strong children than it is to repair broken adults.” Not only will these skills build resilient children but create a generation of adults who have learned and practiced tolerance and compassion within themselves and the world around them. If we can help kids learn to be loving, patient and forgiving towards themselves, then that will project onto others creating a peaceful environment. Our BE Buddy™ Story The inspiration for the Be Buddy™ began in a kindergarten classroom while Stephanie was guiding the students in a breathing practice using stuffed animals designed to teach healthy breathing habits to help children feel calm and relaxed. After experiencing issues with their stuffed animals falling off their bellies, causing a distraction around them, Stephanie decided to create her own tool for such exercises. So, she developed a multi-sensory “breathing buddy”, essential to teaching deep brain/body practices, shaped and weighted in a way that feels both comfortable and secure to children. BE Buddy™ is extremely helpful to parents, teachers, and anyone who works with children alike in integrating these practices into their children’s daily life, helping kids develop wellness from the inside out! Stephanie summarizes her mission as: “To inspire and empower students with tools to build focus, strength, and compassion towards self and others". How else can you help? We would love you to experience our tools and techniques and join our community of BE-Buddies. Your care for the children's well-being will help us spread awareness on simple and powerful techniques that everyone can employ at home or in their teaching calls or studio. Be part of the well-being community and share our campaign with your friends and those who would benefit from hearing about it.
