Summary Wandering Deli- Dairy Free is a unique vegan cheese company in Toronto, ON, helmed by Kira Lancaster. We specialize in nut cheeses that embrace the idea that if you wander from dairy, there is a path of truly rewarding delights awaiting you. After years of vegan cheese experimenting, and working in Toronto restaurants, Kira was being asked to make delicious nut cheeses for every occasion by friends and family, and as word spread she extended her cheese endeavours to a 'secret' vegan cheese club that was quickly featured in The Toronto Star, The Globe and Mail, Toronto Life, and various blogs! Needless to say, the secret was out, and she started renting kitchen space generously offered by Easy Restaurant in Parkdale. Running a special order vegan cheese company allowed for vegan cheese creativity to flourish, and we have offered over 40 different vegan cheeses, including the favourites that Wandering Deli offers at farmers markets today. This year, 2019, Wandering Deli has transitioned it's reach to farmers markets and the response has been overwhelmingly positive! Kira's husband, Cailean Lewis, has joined the company full time and we are overjoyed to be meeting new folks who love what we do on a constant basis. Something we are often asked at farmers markets is 'where else can I buy this? do you have a storefront?" and that is where this campaign comes in! We have been offered the downright incredible opportunity to renovate our current production space at Easy Restaurant into Toronto's first bonafide vegan cheese shop! As a small family company, this is huge! A shop would mean we would be able to continue to offer a wide variety of cheeses that truly 'wanders' from the expectation of what 'cheese' or 'dairy' or even 'vegan food' should be. Most large city's have vegan cheese shops popping up, and it would be a true honour to continue this path in our beloved community. What We Need & What You Get We are so ready to bring this cheese shop to Toronto! We have the space, the team, the oodles of recipes, the awesome clientele, but we need some renovations and equipment: Your support will help us: -put a new entrance door on at Easy, just for us ($3000+) -buy some new kitchen equipment to scale up ($6000+) -put in a new sink ($700) -purchase larger quantities of supplies (variable) -and generally get our space customer ready ($2500+) In return for your support, we are offering some no-thing-else quite like it perks, like our cheese itself, of course, as well as unique platters- go special occasion with something for two or get lavish and have us craft a whole table for a party! Take a vegan cheese making class with friends, book a private cheese maker consult for yourself (via skype or in person), check out a zine that will have you well on your way to being a vegan cheese platter afficianado, there's something that suits any vegan cheese lover. We are passionate about what we do, and every chance we have to show our gratitude through food is one we will truly celebrate. If we don't quite reach our goal, we still intend to undertake this project, it will simply be a little slower. If fully funded, we could potentially open our doors in a matter of months, if not, a little longer as we tackle things piece by piece, or wedge by wedge, if you will. The Impact Funding this project not only blossoms a small family business, it rewards the loving community that has supported us along the way. Kira has been wildly lucky on her wandering path to meet so many people who truly love and support not only vegan cheese, but small local business. She's seen Wandering deli (in all it's forms) grow from a facebook group to a family business. This opportunity comes out of years of hard work, but also years of generous folks believing in us. Toronto is a city where it is becoming increasingly cost-prohibitive for companies like ours to find space to get started, and it cannot be understated that the owner of Easy Restaurant is truly putting his faith in community and small-scale entrepreneurial gumption when he offers us this chance. Supporting our dream sends the message that he is doing a great thing! It's time for Toronto not only to have an artisan vegan cheese shop, but a small business that truly is something the whole community can celebrate. Risks & Challenges There will certainly be challenges, especially if scaling up quickly takes place, but years of honing recipes and working in the food and hospitality industry have Kira and Cailean honed and familiar with tackling the work of a busy food establishment. The main risks presented are timeline, as it is dependent on funds raised. We intend to do everything as quickly as we can, but currently this is campaign dependent! Other Ways You Can Help If you aren't able to contribute financially, please spread the word! Tell folks about this campaign on whatever platforms you use, this is incredibly valuble! Indiegogo has some built in share tools, so they can help you out there;)
Donate NowAid organisations appealed on Tuesday for funds to help Syria recover from an eight-year war that has driven almost six million people out of the country, as donors from nearly 85 countries readied for a pledging conference in Brussels that starts Thursday.Agencies, non-governmental organisations, and think tanks say the conflict, which has killed more than 400,000 people and sparked a refugee exodus that destabilised Syria's neighbours and hit Europe, is far from over. Around 80 percent of people inside the country live in extreme poverty and refugees are reluctant to return, fearing violence, conscription or prison.According to the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, some 100,000 people have been displaced since the last wave of violence began in mid-February, including tens of thousands from Khan Sheikhoun in northwest Syria, which has been repeatedly hit by government forces from the air and ground in recent weeks. It estimated that some 140 people, including 69 civilians, were killed over three weeks. As the conflict enters its ninth year, about 11.7 million Syrians still depend on aid, more than six million have been displaced inside Syria and some two million children are out of school. But donor fatigue is growing: Of around 3.5 billion euros (3.9 billion US dollars) pledged last year, only around two thirds were funded.Beyond providing aid, the European Union — the world's biggest donor and host of Thursday's conference — refuses to help rebuild the country until a political settlement has been reached. The EU is hoping that the meeting can give impetus to stalled peace moves under UN auspices, on top of gathering humanitarian aid for Syria and for neighbours hosting refugees like Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan. But some NGOs believe that its stance over rebuilding can be a serious obstacle to genuine aid efforts."We need to hold the EU accountable to its position, that there should be no reconstruction, whether you want to call it reconstruction, early recovery or new things like humanitarian infrastructure or all these nice and sexy words we come up with to justify our actions, we need to be accountable to our ethical position, that unless the war is over and there is a political solution, we may be contributing to an unsustainable peace in Syria", said Dr. Rouba Mhaissen, founder and director of Sawa for Development and Aid.Jordan CEO of Save the Children Rania Malki stressed that securing money for "the recovery of children, who have suffered in this conflict" was crucial.Geert Cappelaere, UNICEF Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, echoed her words by emphasising that "the situation of Syrian children remains incredibly dire"."Every single day in 2019, at least three children got killed in this war," he added. Absent from the donor conference are Syrians themselves. No government or opposition representatives have been invited, but civil society group representatives in Brussels for the occasion are concerned that donor countries want to pressure Syrian refugees to return, despite the dangers and uncertainties they could face.
Donate NowCloth masks produced by small manufacturers in the US that will be donated to those in need. #MaskUp and Save Lives As COVID-19 continues to spread, we must each do our part to help reduce transmission rates: Funded by your donations, we are keeping American manufacturers in business by creating a large number of cloth masks to donate to those in need — hospitals, homeless shelters, non-profit organizations who work with vulnerable populations, and for those working at health care facilities, including janitorial staff, cafeteria workers, parking attendants, and more.. To show our appreciation for generous donations, we have set aside a small quantity of cloth masks to those who request them to increase your personal safety, the safety of those around you, and reduce the stigma of wearing masks in the US. If we exceed our fundraising goals, we'll make more available. By backing this campaign, you’ll be: Supporting jobs and manufacturing in the US as a stop gap measure, until these factories have contracts to produce masks for local and national governments. All masks will be made locally by factories in Los Angeles. Allowing hospitals and clinics to use cloth masks for lower-risk patient care and low-risk situations, in addition to a mask cover. This allows them to save N95 medical masks for high-risk care. Donating reusable cloth masks to hospitals, non-profit organizations, homeless shelters, nursing homes, and local businesses providing essential services such as delivery, restaurants, etc. Protecting yourselves and your community by wearing masks to prevent spread and reducing the stigma around mask wearing, as many people wear masks for either medical necessity or cultural norms. Helping to protect some of the most vulnerable people in society. Los Angeles has a population of nearly 60,000 people who are homeless, many of whom sleep on the street and do not have access to high quality health care. New Limited Perks! We ran out of the 500 masks we set aside for donors within the first week, but have decided to allot another 500 masks since we were able to do a second production run. Only 10% of the total masks we produce will be given to donors to ensure the majority of masks will reach those with critical needs. If you choose the Get 2 + Donate 3 perk, your masks will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate box. The volunteers packing these items will be wearing gloves and masks, but please launder the masks before use. What We’re Doing: Many are stepping up to answer the call for help from health care professionals, but people working outside of hospitals are also in need. While all available N95 masks and professional PPE should be reserved for health care settings, we’re working with local manufacturers to provide some protection to underfunded and disadvantaged organizations and communities. As the Founder/CEO of a sustainable clothing startup committed to production based in the United States, I have partnerships with factories and manufacturers in Los Angeles that can produce thousands of masks. I’ve redirected my startup capital to get this project going, and have paused development on my company’s launch to work with my partners to produce masks instead. I’ve invested $15,000 as seed money, but need at least another $10,000 to produce at scale. I am donating these masks at cost and want to support the local garment industry temporarily until they can be funded by the government or other organizations at scale. We are currently able to make approximately 1,000 masks a week, but we estimate that we have the capacity to produce up to 3,000 a week with your funding. 100% of your funds go directly to making masks.Masks have variable costs depending on the size of the manufacturer, the quantity ordered, and availability of fabric (in short supply at the moment). At the moment, they cost roughly $3.60 to make. The price per mask decreases the larger the quantity we order. That means, the more we raise the more efficient we become, which means more masks to workers in need. We reserve 10% as an operations reserve in case we can no longer depend on volunteers alone for delivery of masks, but anything remaining will go directly into making more masks. Stellari LLC and our manufacturing partners are working to produce and donate cloth masks at cost. Masks given to donors are also at cost, we do not make any profit from IndieGoGo perks. Why Cloth Masks? In hospitals and medical practices around the country, physicians and nurses are facing a critical shortage of FDA-approved medical Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), putting them and other patients in jeopardy as they care for ever-increasing numbers of COVID-19 cases. As a clothing brand, our partners are best suited to making cloth masks not intended for clinical use. We wish to help keep our partners in business by efficiently producing cloth masks for low-risk settings. While our cloth face masks are NOT medical devices, the pattern has been developed by the LA Mayor's Office and Kaiser Permanente, the country’s largest healthcare management system. Per CDC recommendations, fabric masks are an acceptable crisis response option when standard PPE is unavailable, and many hospitals in the US are accepting cloth masks to address the shortage. In some developing countries, cloth masks are still used as standard PPE. Please note, these masks are not intended for clinical use and must be laundered before and after every use. Stellari and all of its related affiliates and partners make no claims regarding the safety and efficacy of cloth masks in preventing any disease or illness, including, but not limited to COVID-19. How We’ll Make And Deliver Masks: Masks will be produced by Stellari's manufacturing partners based in Los Angeles. Our partners include: A Cut Above the Rest (manufacturer),Left Production Co (manufacturer), All the Right Stuff (trims), and others. Some of our partners have already switched to making masks, so our funding efforts will be additive to their ongoing work. This helps keep their businesses alive and pay their workers during a difficult time. All masks will be delivered by volunteers to non-profit organizations and health care facilities that have specifically requested cloth masks, or shipped using the operations reserve. Within the first week of launch, we were able to distribute over 900 masks with the majority going to the following organizations: Doctors Abroad Foundation, which provides medical care to those underprivileged regardless of ethnicity, gender, or age. HopeNet LA, a network of 12 food pantries in the metro Los Angeles that have served over 3 million people since 1988 Orange County Emergency Child Care Centers, around OC Southern California Hospital at Culver City, and 2 other Los Angeles area hospitals for personal use by healthcare workers About the Masks: We are using a pattern developed by LA Mayor Garcetti’s Office, Kaiser Permanente (the largest healthcare management service in the country) andReformation, a sustainable clothing brand based in Los Angeles. Please visit LA Protects, for the pattern and more information. All masks are latex free and double layered. Other Ways You Can Help: Thank you for reading this, we appreciate it! If you’re looking for another effort, please consider:. Mask Match: Matching N95 masks with medical professionals in need LA Protects: Initiative by the LA Mayor's office GetPPE.org Millions of Masks: Purchase cloth masks from Reformation, an official partner of LAProtects.org

In 2017, I graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and went on to start Learn Or Teach the following year. Learn Or Teach is a corporate learning company that specializes in custom course creation and hosting services. We provide a learning management system on which organizations can create and host online courses, for employee, partner, and even customer training. Given the disruption wreaked by the Corona virus in the past few weeks, demand for our services has skyrocketed as organizations of all shapes and sizes resort to remote work to maintain productivity. While current solutions on the market are fragmented, we eliminate the need to hire an instructional designer, a graphic designer, a videographer, a content editor, and learning management system services separately. We are a one stop solution that thereby lowers the barrier to entry for small and mid-sized businesses We need your help expanding our course creation equipment to address the sudden spike in demand for custom online course creation. Previously we had been renting equipment and it is proving to be too expensive to do and not a sensible alternative given the demand we are facing at present. Here Is A Sample Of Our Work To Date This customer had a construction safety training company. That's more than half of the 153 million jobs in the economy overall. While all these jobs may not necessarily be lost, it's probable that as many as 10 million of those workers could see some impact to their paychecks -- either layoffs, furloughs, fewer hours or wage cuts. Your support will enable us to provide small and mid-sized business across the nation with a low cost alternative for digitizing their training to either utilize this downtime to upskill their workforce or transition their employees to working remotely. Risks & Challenges There is a probability that we may not reach our intended fundraising goal. If that is the case, we will buy the equipment we can with the amount raised, and continue to supplement it with our internal funds as we go. Your support would enable us to serve more customers more quickly. As the restrictions continue, the demand could even increase further, in which case we would use the funds raised from other work to purchase more equipment. Other Ways You Can Help First, we would like you help spread the word to other small businesses that you think could benefit from our services. Second, we would like you to support and share our campaign via email and with your followers on social media, perhaps they would know someone in need. Thank you for helping up support small and mid-sized businesses redefine how they learn.
Donate NowThe Inside Story In Minnesota, we're all held hostage by the extreme weather conditions. Snow, rain, heat, humidity, bugs - it all gets in the way of our ability to get our dogs the exercise and socialization they need. Indoor Zoomies is the answer, Indoor Zoomies is an indoor dog park that can promise the perfect conditions every day no matter the weather. Indoor Zoomies is needed by all dog lovers, including myself. There are just too many days where the outdoor park isn't comfortable for me or my dog. Maybe it rained, maybe it's too cold for my Chihuahua mix, maybe it's too hot for me to stand in the sun and for my dog to run until she's out of energy. So we're bringing the fun indoors Indoor Zoomies will be more than just a dog park. While dogs might not need much more than open space and another pup buddy, we do. We want to forget that it's cruddy outside. We want to get work done and have a cup of coffee while our dogs play; and we want to make sure our dogs are safe under a watchful eye. I hear you! Trained professionals will be on the play floor at all times making sure all play is positive and that your pup stays safe. We love dogs, too! We don't want anyone getting scared or hurt. Lastly, Indoor Zoomies will be partnering local rescues to host adoption events in a comfortable wide-open environment. Foster pups will be able to play, socialize, and show off their natural personalities with perspective families. There will also be special events such as foster dog Yoga and Pilates to help people meet these wonderful dogs. Indoor Zoomies is so important to me, but it's also important for our dogs. I can't wait to open the doors and meet all your four-legged best friends. Our Need Indoor Zoomies is looking for $20,000 to secure a space, hire and train employees and to create a park you and your dog will love to visit. Our goal is to keep your dog active, build a community of dog lovers, help dogs socialize, and assist in local canine adoptions. Think of all the days when you've wished there was a place to take your dog where he could release some of that energy. With all our snow, rain, mud, and bugs, getting your dog the exercise he needs can become stressful and messy. Indoor Zoomies will alleviate the frustration of the weather telling you when your dog can play. And we cannot wait to meet your dogs!! The Cost Breakdown For $5000, we can secure a location For $2000, we can get the fencing needed to create the play floors For $4000, we can get the play place seen above $3000 to create the cafe area where you can relax and work while your dog tires himself out The rest is for training, tech, employees, aesthetics, and anything unforeseen that isn't good enough for you and your dog that we need to fix.

Donate NowSummary Historic Restoration, Learning/Teaching Homestead, Artist Sanctuary We are going to create a learning/teaching homestead with an artist santuary. In addition to hosting artists, we plan on offering design classes with a focus on sustainability and opening our homestead to the community at large. Now more than ever, having control of your food, and creating nourishment for your family is vital for health and survival. The food we eat passes through many hands before it hits our tables. We will teach you skills to grow your own food in small space, put it by, and keep you and your family healthy and strong. The Impact Teaching Self Sufficiency and Mindfulness and Supporting Emerging Artists We love old places and this one deserves a second chance in life. She may have been neglected, but she has good bones and a great foundation. I am originally from West Virginia from an old, mountain family that settled in the region before there was the United States. My ancestors foraged and lived off the land and have a long history of self-sufficient and sustainable living. It’s in my DNA. We want to teach people the best practices for growing the most amount of healthy, organic food in the least amount of space and tried and true methods of putting things by. Also, we will teach classes in sustainable floral design, soap making, and other practical skills. Working with nature creates a state of flow and mindfulness and we want to share that gift. Classes will be made available for day-trippers or people staying in the area. They will be small groups, taught by local experts. Resident artists will be encouraged to show and speak about their work at a local arts center and will be matched with working professionals who will perform 2-3 studio visits during their stay. We want this to be a place to support emerging and mid-career artists and to encourage those who are looking to build a career in creative pursuits. In lieu of payment, artists will donate a piece of their work created during their stay and will be encouraged to show their work and talk about their process to the local community. It's an excellent opportunity for emerging and mid career artists learn from working professionals and gain more exposure and talk about their work. This is a lifelong dream of ours and Enrique, Lavender, William I and are very excited about restoring a neglected home, giving back to our community and offering artists a place to sprout their journeys. What We Need & What You Get We need $20K in Funding you get a Great Experience We are seeking $20K. We will use the funds to help supplement the initial down payment and closing costs, establish a 503(c) foundation to offset the maintenance and administrative fees and to develop a book documenting the process. The entire project will be underwritten by Rose Red & Lavender, and the Sevilla Family. You get to be a part of this amazing project and you are investing in this. In exchange for your kindness we are offering the following: $5+ Our eternal gratitude $25 Handmade soap, made with pure ingredients and love by, Kimberly Sevilla $50 credit in the book as a friend of the project $100 book documenting the restoration of the Blue House with credit in the book $250 floral design class with Kimberly Sevilla at Blue House Hudson Valley $500 weekend stay for 2 in the artist's apartment $1000 weekend stay for 2 in the artist's apartment plus a private workshop for 2 $2500 weekend stay for two plus one private workshop and a painting created by an artist in residence $5000 Private floral design class for 5 at a location of your choice in the NYC metropolitan area and a home or garden evaluation of plant recommendations and advice. Why Hi, my name is Kimberly Sevilla and I am the owner of Rose Red & Lavender. I founded my business in Williamsburg Brooklyn in 2008 out of a desire to share my love of plants and flowers with my community and to empower people to embrace the natural world by teaching classes in organic gardening and sustainable design. Sadly, the beautiful, old complex that housed my business was torn down in 2018 to build condos. My Family and I are launching a new project. We want to save this C1870's Hudson Valley farmhouse from the bulldozer and will need your help. Here is a little video of me and our little shop made in 2012. I thought I looked old and fat, but that's a different story. Risks & Challenges Someone else will buy it and tear it down, restoring a historic home ain't easy. This house recently went on the market. We are concerned if we don’t act quickly, that someone else will buy it and tear it down to build a McMansion. This would not only impact the local community where the house is located but would also be a tragedy to have such a beautiful treasure put in a landfill. We are aware of the difficulties of house restoration and intend on using reclaimed materials when possible and following passive design principles while maintaining the historic context and integrity of the property. We also intend on using professional designers, architects and contractors for the renovations necessary to make it habitable for the artists and our family. Other Ways You Can Help Share your expertise and skills, holler from the mountain tops about us. We understand that not everyone can monetarily support us. That’s OK. We are actively seeking artists and curators who would like to contribute their knowledge and expertise as well as artisans who would like to share their skills with a broader community. As you know, people like to support people that they like, if you aren’t the “Artsy” type (as my WV mom would say), sharing our campaign, hollering about us and making some noise about us to your friends and family would go a long way. Donate NowOur Yoga Community In September 2019 Crystal Heart Yoga officially opened its doors in Corning, New York. We have been fortunate to watch our community grow together, the teaching staff expand, and our class offerings provide a much needed touchstone in many lives. Just 6 months after opening we must now temporarily shutter our beloved new studio in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic. We wish for us all to remain connected and remember what awaits us. To keep that dream a reality we have started this campaign, allowing you to back this small, local business--Support Crystal Heart Yoga in Style! What We Need & What You Get We are in need of the funds to keep our business running while we are unable to use the studio space. Classes must stop for now, but our financial obligations and basic expenses do not. This is a challenge! I must still cover insurances, taxes on the lease, the lease itself, minimal utilities, and the like. If you decide to purchase something from the campaign you will support the studio financially right away. You also help to create awareness for the studio when you post pictures of your studio-branded threads and wear them out in the world when we resume our normal activities. Tag us on Instagram with @crystal.heart.yoga! Other Ways You Can Help Consider sharing this campaign with anyone who likes shirts, yoga, and/or small businesses! Please let others know that they can support the studio by posting on social media or sending them a link. We thank you! Consider using some of the upcoming pay-what-you-can YouTube videos! You can also find weekly Live streaming classes on the Crystal Heart Yoga Facebook page, co-hosted with the Southeast Steuben County Library. These will be archived for you to use at any time, (*note, the first class is available on the library's Facebook page) and air at 10a Fridays until the library reopens. We are also creating a YouTube channel for yoga classes to use from home. I built this studio as a tribute to the practice of yoga and all its seekers. This small business was built of heart, time, sweat, sacrifice, and love. I am now only one of many who view our studio as an anchor--as a sanctuary. We will work to keep it. We need help to ensure it remains a valued resource in Corning.
Donate NowOverview We are extremely excited to bring a neighborhood pizzeria across the street from the University of Sioux Falls and just two blocks north of Augustana University and whether you're a neighborhood resident, student, alumni or just a fan of small, fun, local businesses, we hope you're excited as well! That's why we're offering several Founder's Club opportunities that will immortalize you as a founding patron of our pizzeria! Check out the options on this page and thank you for your support! Our Story Seven years ago, my wife and I purchased our first home a block away from Augustana College. During our five years in that house, we couldn’t help but notice the classic, coin-operated laundry facility on the corner of 26th and Walts. It stuck out like a sore thumb and my wife and I made a pact that, if that property ever became available, we would do everything we could to make it into a pizzeria. Well, that day has come and we're jumping head first into this opportunity and we would greatly appreciate your support! The size of our building has made this an affordable venture for us to start up all on our own. However, we're neighborhood residents that would greatly appreciate your financial support to get this restaurant going! We hope Sunny's Pizzeria becomes a college / neighborhood staple for decades to come and you can be immortalized as one of the people who helped make it a reality by participating in one of our Founders' Club programs! Our Vision Create a small, relaxed, hyper-local feel within the space with a focus on pizza and community. A neighborhood spot college students and nearby residents will identify with. Where Your Money Goes Our Founders' Club funds will make a huge difference as we start-up this fun neighborhood restaurant. The more funds we can collect, the more 'nice to have' elements we can incorporate into the restaurant: Additional entertainment options (TVs, surround sound, arcade games, etc.) Potential for patio seating section Upgraded interior aesthetics Potential for additional food offerings / equipment (gourmet coffee, ice cream, etc.) Risks & Challenges We view this restaurant as a slam dunk - however, we're being cautiously optimistic. Opening a pizzeria in-between two college campuses seems like a no-brainer, BUT it is a small space and we will be looking to get our feet underneath us as we open our doors, which is why we view these Founders' Club offerings as a win-win scenario for Sunny's Pizzeria and its patrons alike! Other Ways You Can Help Know somebody who needs a part-time job? Spread the word that we'll soon be hiring! Spread the word about our Founders' Club offerings and get this information in the hands of friends that might be interested in being Founders' Club members! If you know people that love pizza - tell them about us! It would be our pleasure to serve them!
Donate Now1. Introduction As Korean, we’ve undergone a shortage of face masks, and we still are. We know that it’s not only just us but the whole world. To deal with this problem, we launch "What if we make our own mask?" Campaign with Face Mask Kit. We developed and designed our Face Mask Kit focusing on three things. Better look Lower price Superior user experience Long story short, let us show you our product first. We believe that with our effort and support from backers, this campaign will be helpful for people in need. 2. Background We are well aware that the WHO and CDC do not recommend the use of face masks by the public. However, masks are effective at capturing droplets, which is a main transmission route of many diseases including COVID-19. If you are likely to be in close contact with someone, wearing a mask could help you. 3. Problem Due to dramatically increased demand for face masks, Any face masks went out of stock for a while and many people reused their disposable masks, which supposed to be worn only once, exposing themselves to infection and unsanitary. Last year, China manufactured 20 million masks per day which is half of the world’s supply for mask. Today, Chinese manufacturers supply approximately 80 million masks to deal with explosively increased demand thanks to the rapid expansion of facilities and factories. Furthermore, the world now faces a serious shortage of face masks due to unexpectedly increased demand from Asia, Europe and North America. Front-line health workers such as medical staff in hospitals and those people who can’t get the proper medical services are most affected by a shortage of face masks. We identified the cause of the shortage of face masks in the supply chain. When demand increases, three problems arise in the supply chain. First, facilities and skillful staffs are insufficient to meet the demand. Second, factories run out of raw material for the mask. Lastly, cornering and panic buying face masks force end-consumer to buy masks with unreasonable price and quantity. 4. Solution We would like to solve these three problems at once by "What if we make our own mask?" Campaign. We think that making a face mask at home can replace time-consuming processes within manufacturing at the factory. The face mask kit has two parts: frame and roll-filter. You can replace one part with similar material you can get in daily life. If you wash the ordinary disposable mask, filter layers in the mask would lose its function properly. However, as our filter is removable, our mask frame can be washed with water and used again with a new filter. Also, this reusable mask is made of 50% less material compared to normal disposable masks, reducing wasted material up to 70% in disposable masks. 5. Case Study Seoul, where 10 million people live, is among cities with very high population density around the world, yet the spread of COVID-19 in Seoul is under control. Despite emerging new clusters in Seoul, the infection was contained within related people in those clusters and its families, thanks to the public wearing masks and washing hands. Also, wearing face masks can protect your family. For example, #1129 patient in South Korea noticed that he has symptoms of COVID-19 and wore a mask for 2 weeks even at home until the hospital gave him confirmation that he is diagnosed with COVID-19. He did not infect anyone he contacted in those 2 weeks including his 80 years old mother who could be very dangerous if she was infected. 6. Social Contribution Premade disposable masks can be supplied for those who really need the masks, especially front-line health workers. Risks and Challenges We are working on this project with the mission of making products that will be used by many people desperately, and we promise to provide transparent and thorough feedback. Every team member will do their best to deliver fast and accurate results and to control every possible risk. We are currently working on this project after confirming that raw material availability is available in China. The price of raw materials has risen by roughly 10 times compared to one before this situation, and the price is still rising every minute. Even though raw material factories are expanding at a tremendous rate, and mask manufacturing factories are also busy trying to expand, it is not enough to satisfy the demand. Therefore, we are planning to quickly start securing raw materials as soon as we achieve the goal of this project. There is a risk that the trade of materials and mask products might be prohibited if several cases in China explodes again. Under the supply and demand control of the Chinese government, the project might be in danger of being delayed. There is a risk that there might be slight changes in rewards due to changes in raw material prices in the future. There might be slight changes in product design to improve user experience and to minimize manufacturing costs.

Donate NowHello, my name is Naina and I am the Founder & Creator of NALPHI, a company with a mission to create high-end luxury bags that balances style, comfort, and usability. As a professional and a mother, I understand the problems that women face when choosing bags that are meant for work, then end up becoming a rucksack. They're full of useful and a few unnecessary features. I was tired of carrying beautiful yet heavy bags with thin straps that dug into my shoulders as I juggled between work, home, kids, and occasional yoga classes. In other words, my bag needed to have a laptop, iPad, notebook, sunglasses, make-up, wallet, keys, lunch, a water bottle, snacks for kids, and yoga clothes at all times! Furthermore, with my busy schedule, I needed to quickly retrieve the correct items from my bag — all from one big black hole. Sound familiar? According to a prominent usability researcher, Anya Meyerowitz, a woman spends close to 162 days searching for things in her bag. If this wasn't enough, what happens when we have to search for our keys in the dark? We use our phone light to get the keys, but then…no charge, right? Phew, now that's another problem that we have. Late nights out, long outdoor work, or a situation where we can't charge our phone. Hmm...so we carry a 'power bank'. But then we forget the power bank as it’s charging on the desk. The list goes on and on and on. And, I was a living testament to that research. My company was created out of my desire to create the perfect bag that serves the purpose of being comfortable, stylish, and high on the usability-factor. Being a designer by profession and having spent years in the fashion industry — both in Italy and India — I refused to let fashion run over functionality and finally decided to take the matter in my own hands. This was the genesis of NALPHI, a company where we believe that a woman’s bag should be beautiful AND practical. So, we designed a beautiful bag made with the finest quality leather that solves the most critical and common problems faced by a busy, modern woman. Our logo, the dolphin, defines us the best — a harmony between elegance and intelligence. This is our aim. We will continue to listen to all the challenges you face and continue to create beautiful products. NALPHI uses patented technology to automatically illuminate the interior of your bag when opened — making it easier to find what you need. The built-in InnerGlow LED light turns on the moment you open your bag and turns off after a few seconds. No need to find a switch or hold up a flashlight, Inner Glow will flood your interior with light exactly when you need it, without hassle or frustration. Never fumble inside your bag again. NALPHI is made from genuine full-grain, natural pigment leather — the same leather used by Europe’s most prestigious luxury houses. This incredible leather is the highest grade possible and boasts exceptional durability, lifespan, and texture. It is what separates the average bag from top-of-the-line luxury products. Top to bottom, NALPHI is made exclusively with this luxury-grade, full-grain leather, giving it unprecedented quality for its price. NALPHI eliminates the markup found in most luxury brands without compromising on materials or design. We do this by cutting out the middleman, selling direct to you, and only offering fair prices. Our leather is premium-sourced and highest quality. Our technology is dialed in. Our design is detailed and styled to exquisite taste. We've done 2 years of extensive User Experience & Usability research before designing. This is why our bag is so different from other bags on the market. We also believe in paying what is right to our employees, and for our materials. This means you get the best quality for the best price in full conscience. NALPHI is equipped with special JustRight utility spaces for everything you need in your bag. From bottles to keys, keep your everyday items organized and quickly accessible no matter what. The non-spill bottle loop keeps your water bottle secured inside your bag and easily accessible. The detachable key loop makes sure your keys are always available within hands reach. The cosmetics pouch neatly stores all your makeup needs —keeping them consolidated and ready to go at a moment’s notice. Scratch-proof pockets protect your phone and sunglasses from your other items in your bag. No more surprise scratches on your screens and lenses! NALPHI is also big enough to easily fit a MacBook Air or iPad Pro. You can even comfortably accommodate in a 13” MacBook Pro! The SecureMe warning system automatically sounds an alarm if any unexpected visitors peek into your bag. Simply switch it on when you want to secure your bag. If anyone opens the bag, NALPHI will detect it and alert you via a chirping alarm. The sound will also help ward away any potential pickpockets. Keep your phone and mobile devices charged with EverPower, NALPHI’s 5,000mAh power bank. A two-way USB-C port allows you to charge EverPower, as well as any USB-C enabled devices, while a USB-C to USB-A adapter port lets you charge earlier-generation devices.
Donate NowAbout ¨The Vanguard Mask¨ As you may have heard, there is a shortage of face masks around the country and millions of people are being affected. Using our resources and expertise, we have been working on developing the best possible fashionable face mask to help those in need, “The Vanguard Mask.” Please see chart below to learn more about our perks: "The Vanguard Mask" was first inspired when I saw my mailman (from USPS) without a mask and wanted to help him and all other front line workers who are in need of masks. That same day, I heard NY Governor Andrew Cuomo’s call to action to make masks. I could not stay home and sit on my couch doing nothing. I was determined to make a difference. Who We Are My name is and I am the founder of Ari jogiel , an apparel Development & Manufacturing company located in Downtown Los Angeles. We specialize in bringing concepts to life. At Ari Jogiel, our day-to-day consists of helping brands pursue their dreams by working with them on their product development and manufacturing processes. Today we work with over 100 brands from across the States, with all of our garments Made In Freaking Los Angeles. How It's Made “The Vanguard Mask” uses antimicrobial material that is a Cationic Poly blend, sourced in Los Angeles, CA. Cationic polyester is a material that has sustainable nanoparticles with unique mechanical properties. The materials biocompatibility and low toxicity, making it a perfect alternative for biomedical applications, like a face mask. “The Vanguard Mask” contours to your facial features providing a tailored fit. The mask was constructed with facial features in mind. The adjustable straps provide a tailored fit to allow comfort while not interrupting your regular airflow. There is an additional layer of 100% cotton that acts as a built-in filter stitched in between the two layers that construct the mask. The entire mask is machine washable, giving it a reusable long-lifestyle. The Impact This project is important to us because we believe that we should do everything we can to keep everyone healthy and safe. This campaign represents us creating the change we currently need in this country. By participating in this project, raising money, and producing masks, we are taking action. Although the severity of each individual's situation ranges from mild to extreme right now, we need to think about those around us and cover-up. We are all in this together and will get through this, together. What We Can Accomplish Together Our goal for this campaign is to raise a minimum of $15,000. With $15,000 we can produce at least 3,000 masks. However, we do not want to stop there. We have the bandwidth to produce over 100,000 masks PER WEEK! The only thing stopping us is the resources to acquire the materials. With your help, we can make a real difference in getting people across the entire country covering up to protect themselves and their communities with their Vanguard Masks. Every purchase and contribution will play a key role in us being able to maximize the number of masks we can provide! Overcoming Challenges Being a clothing manufacturing company based in Los Angeles, CA we could have easily thrown in the towel a few weeks ago. We were losing clients, team members, and watching everything shut down around us. We refused to sit back and watch. It is in our nature to be tenacious and keep fighting. Contributing to this project not only means you are supporting your community, but it symbolizes the fighter in you. Other Ways You Can Help We understand that not everyone can contribute financially. However, everyone does have the power to help us reach our goal by doing the following: Sharing this campaign link on all social media platforum Reposting our masks and tagging us on Instagram using hashtag #GuardForGuard Follow along with our journey to reach 100,000 masks a week

Donate NowThe Quick Pitch It’s true, this project is already finished! In that way, this is a non-traditional crowdfunding campaign, and more of a pre-order campaign. It’s my hope that you will take this as a show of how committed I am to this project, to my music. It is also my hope, that you’ll take to heart the idea that crowdfunding is “the new record deal,” and that your support here will make it possible for me to keep creating amazing new music (and funding incredible visual art) in the future! The Backstory... Five years ago, I started to feel some big ideas brewing in my mind and body. I was beginning to face the truth of my mom's presonality disorder, my misconceptions about what my potential could be as an individual (and particularly, as a woman), and the many-layered facades of the institutions of power that held up my world. I felt that nothing was what it seemed. So, I began writing on the theme of masks. Masks that conceal and manipulate. Masks that protect. Masks that reveal, filter, focus, or magnify a specific self. Provisional masks. Playful masks. Beautiful masks. Terrifying masks. I believe these are essentially and ubiquitously human concepts and experiences. And I’ve done my very best to represent as many facets of these themes as possible with this collection of songs, all original. I know you’ll see your life experience reflected in this music, and in these lyrics. The Process Once the collection of songs was completed, I searched around for the perfect producer, and found my now good friend (and brilliant artist) Jed Jones! Together, we spent a whole year sparing no expense to hire the best musicians, record at the best studio, and secure the best mixing and world-class mastering. I got the masters back in March 2019. And honestly, that felt like just the beginning! I’ve spent the last year assembling a brilliant team of visual artists to help me create companion pieces for every single one of my songs. I’ve spent countless hours building my website to the perfect specs that will allow it to properly and beautifully host this colossal project, taking digital marketing classes, researching the best ways to get all of this incredible audio+visual art to as many people as will love it. I’ve done my very best to leave no stone un-turned—to do my part and more to make sure this body of work has the life it deserves. The Team, The Impact This is the part where I need your help! I believe in the value of art. I believe in the power art has to move and change the world. And I’m BEYOND proud of the artists whose careers I’ve personally been able to support thus far with Masks. Can I introduce you to them? Jed Jones – Producer Scott Wiley – Owner of June Audio Recording Studios (where Masks was recorded), and world class Mixing Engineer Matt Young – Drummer, Percussionist, Recording Engineer Mike Luzecky – Bassist Kevin Judd – Pianist Nick Petty – Guitarist Becky Willard – Producer Reuben Cohen – Mastering Engineer at Lurssen Mastering Jen Palmer – Photographer and Editor Shawna Turner – Hair+Makeup Artist, Wardrobe Stylist Heggy Gonzalez – Hair+Makeup Artist Kylie Larkin – Nail Art Designer Rachel Clark – Hair+Makeup Artist Lance Lowry – Film Producer Hoku Curnan – Director of Photography Madi Bruce – Dancer and Choreographer Noah Bradford – Dancer Lily Bruce – Dancer Jean Pezely - Dancer Amirah Alhasoun – Dancer Tessa Blackham – Illustrator and Animator Abril Castro-Bernal – Illustrator and Graphic Designer Casey Fredrick – Filmmaker Aaron Anderson – Drummer Paul Williams – Illustrator Savannah Kynaston – Illustrator Camilla Aubrey – Graphic Designer Lindsey Deschamps – Animator Sarah Keele – Illustrator Jarom Hansen – Producer Brian Taylor – Screen Printer Jason Mangelson – Animator and Graphic Designer Kathie and Andrew Weihanne – Web Designers McKenna Rees – Soap and Wax Artisan, Owner of Stone River Soaps Sailaja Prathi – Heat Transfer Printer Every artist listed above is important and beautiful. And I’m so over-the-moon proud to have paid them all well for the OUTSTANDING work they’ve done for Masks. I consider it one of my greatest accomplishments in my life to support my fellow artists. Please help me continue to support these artists and artists like them by supporting Masks. I promise to continue to create and produce projects that involve as many phenomenal artists as possible. And I can’t wait for these gorgeous perks to be in your gorgeous hands and inboxes. You’ll have your physical and digital perks by the May 8 release date! What I Need & What You Get It’s been difficult for me to come up with a dollar amount, because I’ve invested more of my own funds than I feel comfortable asking for here. And, I really DO feel awesome about supporting so many of my fellow artists with my own funds. But, $8,000 is the number I’ve landed on that would really make it possible for me to keep these mixed-media, collaborative projects coming. If I’m able to raise more than the $8,000 I need, I’ll just make even more content with even more beautiful artists! Donate NowDear comrades, supporters and readers of the Socialist Appeal. The stage in history through which we are passing is one of deep crisis. The sudden epidemic of Covid-19 is accelarating this process, exposing the brutality of the capitalist system, and its inability to adapt to human need. This will also be a global phenomenon, and such questions of life and death will bring class consciousness to the fore. This makes the building of the Marxist tendency even more urgent, and will provide excellent opportunities to do so.It also poses certain difficulties, however, particularly that of finance. In the current circumstances of social distancing, isolation, and even potential lockdown, we will strive to maintain regular, high quality Marxist analysis on a daily basis and host a number of online conference events, meetings and reading groups, to educate and organise activists in the midst of this crisis. But our ability to sell material and raise money will inevitably be hit during this period. Without rich backers, our ability to maintain our apparatus and continue providing a Marxist voice for the British labour movement will ultimately depend on the support and sacrifice of class-conscious workers and youth. We therefore issue this appeal to all our readers and supporters. This incredible stage through which we are passing demands that we maintain our growth and development, for which we rely on your support!
Donate NowThirty photojournalists on the front lines of animal suffering worldwide. HIDDEN: Animals in the Anthropocene is an unflinching book of photography about our conflict with non-human animals around the globe. Through the lenses of thirty award-winning photojournalists, HIDDEN shines a light on the invisible animals in our lives; those with whom we have a close relationship and yet fail to see. They are the animals we eat and wear. The animals we use for research, work, and for entertainment, as well as the animals we sacrifice in the name of tradition and religion. HIDDEN is a historical document, a memorial, and an indictment of what is and should never again be. HIDDEN needs to be seen by as many people as possible, and this can only happen with your support. Thank you for visiting our crowdfunding page. I’m Jo-Anne McArthur, a Canadian photojournalist as well as the founder of We Animals Media (WAM). My vision for this ground-breaking new book was inspired by the war photography that has shaped history. Images of conflict and suffering have always played a crucial role in exposing atrocities and galvanizing the masses. In her book Regarding the Pain of Others, political activist Susan Sontag asks who should look at suffering? When is it useful to do so? The answer is that anyone who can help should look, and that is all of us. Billions of animals suffer needlessly each day within the constructs we’ve built. We believe that the time to bear witness is now. Will you help animals by joining us to get these images seen? OUR PHOTOGRAPHERSHIDDEN represents the work of thirty photojournalists who have - and continue to - document animal stories. These photographers are the heroes who work globally to investigate and expose animal use. Their exhaustive and in depth work has resulted in some of the most compelling and historic images of animals that we have seen. Among them are (in alphabetical order): Aaron Gekoski, Aitor Garmendia, Andrew Skowron, Britta Jaschinski, Daniel Beltrá, Djurattsalliansen, Francesco Pistilli, Jan van Ijken, Joan de la Malla, Jo-Anne McArthur, Jose Valle, Kelly Guerin, Kristo Muurimaa, Konrad Lozinski, Louise Jorgensen, Luis Tato, Moving Animals, Murdo MacLeod, Paul Hilton, Sabine Grootendorst, Selene Magnolia, Stefano Belacchi, Tamara Kenneally, Timo Stammberger, with many others to be announced! The work of our contributors has been celebrated by Wildlife Photographer of the Year, Nature Photographer of the Year, Festival della Fotographia Etica, Alfred Fried Peace Award, the Wildlife Conservation Film Festival, World Press Photo, NPPA’s Best of Photojournalism, Sony World Photography Awards, Picture of the Year International, Latin International Photography Award, DAYS Japan, and Prix de la Photographie. Our photographers have also been published in and interviewed by publications such as National Geographic, GEO, BBC Discover Wildlife, The Guardian, CNN, Telegraph, New Scientist, Newsweek, The Sunday Times, Nikon Pro, Black+White Photography, Vice, La Repubblica and The Washington Post. Please see our perks if you'd like to become a Publishing Partner. Your investment in this book through our crowdfunding campaign is your stamp of support and solidarity with our vision to help make visible the stories of animals and create a kinder world for all. The stories within its pages are revelatory and brutal. They are proof of the emergency confronting animals globally, from industrial farming to climate change, and provide valuable insight into the relevance of animal suffering to human health. With the current Coronavirus pandemic wreaking havoc, never has a book been more relevant to the future of all animals, human and non-human alike. HIDDEN will help propel us into a new era of (re)considering our relationship with animals.PROJECT IMPACTThe animals you will meet in this book are important, and the documentation of their lives is one crucial piece of the puzzle when it comes to animal justice. HIDDEN serves as a document that gives credibility to the coverage of its subject matter. Painful and graphic images are often overlooked by mainstream media, and they need a home that won’t disappear in the frenzy of social media or the daily news. HIDDEN creates historic representation, and we will make sure the the book will reach changemakers in the world of journalism, policy, and campaigning. We Animals Media’s previous crowdfunding campaigns have proven successful, each exceeding our goals, bringing our powerful books, We Animals (2014), and Captive (2017) to life. We hope you'll watch the video we’ve made, pre-order your copy of HIDDEN, and share this campaign. In doing so, you will be helping us produce, print, and distribute this hardcover first edition of HIDDEN. A future that consigns animal suffering to the past.Thank you for your continued support! With gratitude and resilience,Jo, Keith, and the We Animals Media teamP.S. Donate NowA public appeal for funds to upgrade Mosman Cenotaph to acknowledge the sacrifice of those who served in WW2 and conflicts since 1945 was launched by Peter FitzSimons at the Remembrance Day ceremony. Need your donation.
Donate NowUNICEF today released it's US$ 4.2 billion 2020 emergency appeal to reach 59 million children with life-saving support in 64 countries across the globe. It is its biggest ask of donors yet, representing 3.5 times the funds requested in 2010. “Around the world today, we’re seeing the largest number of children in need of emergency assistance since we began record-keeping. One in four children lives in a country affected by conflict or disaster”, said UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta Fore. “Historic numbers of children forcibly uprooted from their homes urgently require protection and support. Conflict remains the major driver, while hunger, infectious disease, and extreme weather events related to climate change force millions of others to seek life-saving aid.” UNICEF’s Humanitarian Action for Children sets out the agency’s 2020 appeal and its work to provide conflict- and disaster-affected children with access to water, sanitation, nutrition, education, health and protection services. Overall, including adults, the appeal covers emergency support to 95 million people. The five largest individual appeals are for Syrian refugees and host communities in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq and Turkey (US$ 864.1 million); Yemen (US$ 535 million); Syria (US$ 294.8 million); the Democratic Republic of the Congo (US$ 262.7 million); and South Sudan (US$ 180.5 million). Reaching the growing numbers of children affected by crises worldwide – especially in countries that typically receive less funding – requires not just additional funding, but funding that is more “flexible”, Fore said. “Our ability to provide children with support from the moment disaster hits until they can get back to their normal lives requires funding that is quickly available, multi-year and isn’t tied to particular countries or issues. Flexible funding helps us save more lives and protect more futures.” In 2019, flexible funding enabled UNICEF to respond to a dramatic increase of insecurity and displacement in Burkina Faso and Mali, two countries whose emergency appeals are still less than one-fifth funded. The 2019 appeal – set at $3.92 billion and revised upwards to $4.13 billion mid-year, was 57 per cent funded as of 1 November, including $761 million in multi-year funds carried over from the previous year.

Donate NowOverview Nothing brings people together better than good food, cold beer, & your best friend. That’s why we are opening Unleashed Hounds and Hops in Downtown Minneapolis! Our 14,000 sq. ft facility features indoor/outdoor off-leash play spaces for you & your best friend. When it's time for a beer break, leave your pup with our expertly trained ruff-erees so you can grab a bite or local brew. Read on to learn more about our mission & how to become a founding member of our dog lovers paradise. Unleashed Hounds and Hops is created by dog lovers, for dog lovers. Dawn Uremovich, Kevin Knutson and Sam Carter realized that at the end of a long day, they were forced to choose between their four and two-legged best friends when it came to social time. After talking to their friends at local dog parks and breweries, it was discovered that all dog parents were facing this same dilemma! The vision is simple: an indoor/outdoor space where dogs have the opportunity for on-leash OR off-leash socialization and their owners have access to both food & drinks for hours of fun for the whole family. We are committed to bringing responsible dog owners together in a safe and friendly environment. We want everyone who walks through our doors to feel a sense of community; where our most important clients, and their owners, can socialize and make new friends. After more than a year of scouting the perfect location, meetings with an array of city and state officials, and tons of excitement from the community, Unleashed Hounds and Hops is nearing construction at a location in the heart of Minneapolis next to the Downtown Farmers Market Annex. We are weeks away from breaking ground and set to open the doors early this winter! Help us raise the final funds needed to open Minnesota’s first bar that has gone totally to the dogs. Continue reading to learn how you can become a founding member of our groundbreaking establishment. For those of us who want to spend as much of our free time as possible with our furry friends, options in the Twin Cities are limited. While dog parks are amazing (albeit for 9 months a year) and local breweries began to allow our dogs, our pups aren’t able to properly chase a ball or feel the wind in their ears. What’s more, us Minnesotans know how extreme temps don’t just affect our social lives, but our four legged friends’ too! We decided to combine three things that solve these issues: dogs, food and an adult beverage. More than just a trendy establishment, Unleashed Hounds and Hops is a community watering hole where dog lovers and their companions can socialize, support pawesome organizations and make new lifelong friends. We are dedicated to working with local vendors and charities through community events like Yappy Hours and Adoption Events. By supporting our campaign, you will not only be getting amazing discounts but you will have the chance to become a founding member of our pack and an instrumental part in our launch. Our Goal: $10,000 Unleashed Hounds and Hops is opening this winter- so why are we raising funds? While we are currently nearing construction of our indoor space for a Winter Opening, any funds raised will be put towards making the outdoor space something above and beyond our original plans, providing you the best experience pawsible for you and your best friend. Additionally, we are dedicated to becoming a community staple and want to represent that community (that's you!) in our very foundation. Can’t back the campaign? No worries, like our pups, we are loyal to anyone who shows us love! Share us with your friends, family and other dog lovers in your life. Construction can be a dog-gone pain in the tail! Our biggest challenge will be getting Unleashed Hounds and Hops open as soon as pawssible so that you and your besties will have a winter hangout! Our owners have a combined 30 years of experience managing corporate foodservice build outs, so we promise the project is in good hands and as a backer, you will receive updates each step of the way.

Donate NowShort Summary Welcome to Aunts et Uncles! We are Michael and Nicole Nicholas. Known to many as Aunty Nic and Uncle Mike. Since being married 9yrs ago sharing space, food, knowledge, and resources have been super important to us. It's what connected us. Both coming from huge Caribbean families we were given the gift of planting seeds within our Community. Whether it be through social events, pop-up experiences or home gatherings we combine our diverse backgrounds to create a hospitality experience that is supportive and visionary. We found ourselves at a place in our lives where we wanted to combine all of our passions, experiences, and knowledge under one roof. With our lifestyle concept shop Aunts & Uncles which will be both retail and food & beverage, we are able to build out those experiences creating a comprehensive hospitality experience. Aunts & Uncles will be located in Brooklyn’s Flatbush neighborhood, home to the borough’s largest West Indian population. Also known as “Central Brooklyn,” this hub of movers and shakers has maintained its cultural vibrance with Caribbean bakeries, regular local parties, and seasonal festivals. However, it’s also strewn with limited food options and zero vibe spots that can allow for both inspiration AND clean eating. Overall, Flatbush’s export of talent needs to be met with a space that builds this population up, while helping to push the neighborhood’s narrative into a new chapter. Our goal is to raise $60 thousand dollars to help complete the build-out. This money will also enable us to stick to the vision we have and present you with the most complete version of the narrative we’ve described. Thank you for believing in us, for supporting us, and for helping to open this business. Your investment means community members being able to have an establishment within their own neighborhood, and that you believe in the future of this dope, vibrant, inspiring and diverse community of doers and dreamers. We appreciate your contribution of any size. Support us in any way you can. Thank you! - Aunty Nic & Uncle Mike
Donate NowOverview We want to share our love for our animals, our land and the work we do so that you and your family can appreciate the full dairy farm experience; a true paddock to plate journey. We need your help to build a creamery on our 6th generation family dairy farm. Short Summary Our aim is to not only build a resilient and positive future for our family on the farm but to rebuild vibrancy into the local dairy industry. We’ve come a long way to create a bright future for our small, some would say micro, dairy from the depths of despair when the effects of deregulation hit. Hard work and a determination to keep this family property, so rich in history and stories of dedication and passion, thriving for generations to come. We’re ready to take the next step and we’ve been working hard to get there. We see this campaign as a chance for our Friends of the Farm to get involved in the next chapter of our story, to be part of something unique and exciting for our family and yours. Come, join with us on this journey of provenance, of connection and of true culinary joy. What We Need & What You Get To make our Creamery a reality, we need to raise $70,000. Our Creamery will be a completely mobile, modern facility with a heritage twist in-keeping with our family's history on the farm. We truly believe in buying and supporting local so we're sourcing all local machinery to equip our Creamery including a milk pasteuriser, cream separator, even the Creamery itself. All of this needs to be to the strictest standards to meet Queensland's SafeFood certification. We've done our research, we know what our customers want and we're ready to jump in, boots n all. Are you ready to don your boots and jump in too?? We have a number of packages based on your level of support. Big or small, your contribution will be greatly appreciated. The Impact We believe there is a future for dairy farms in Queensland and particularly, for small family farms like ours who diversify their farm business to welcome consumers to connect with their food and the farmers that produce it. Now is the time to build resilient farm businesses to ensure the future of fresh milk production in Queensland. We are one of less than 380 dairy farms left in Queensland. It's a fact that is hard to take but it is very real. By building and running the Creamery, we will be creating unique, single source dairy products fresh from the farm for your enjoyment and creating a sustainable future for our historic family farm. #knowyourlocalfarmer - you can't get a better connection than that! Other Ways You Can Help If you want to support us, but don't have the funds, we understand. We know that money is tight!
